In 1865, Webster acquired their own arsenal and began producing rifles and pistols under their own name. The arsenal soon became known as the “Webster Arsenal” and continuedproducing firearms until 1903 when it closed due to lack of funding. Today, most of the assets associated with this facility are still within Webster city limits.

Webster is a town in Burnet County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The first settlers in Webster were men from New England who came overland in 1836. They named their new settlement after Daniel Webster, then a Representative from Massachusetts and one of the founders of the United States Congress. The original town site was on the south side of what is now I-35W and US- 190 (now Loop 447). When railroad construction reached Webster in 1874, it became an important junction for railroads serving central Texas and its surrounding areas. In 1904, the name of Webster was changed to Burnet when Burnet County was created. In 1916, Webster had a post office as well as three churches: First Baptist Church (1896), Methodist Episcopal Church (1906), and Presbyterian Church (1916). On December 6th that year, fire destroyed most of the downtown business district including both churches but not before they had served as meeting places for local businesses and residents during wintertime since there was no other place to be found with all those people coming together to trade goods and services on such short notice. The first school building was built in 1898 by Mrs Clinton Halliday which serves as a museum today. One hundred fifty students attended classes at this school before it closed due to budget cuts in 1911; however nearby Lamar High School continued to offer high school education until 1953 whens it merged into Lamar University. A new brick school building opened in 1922 which served grades 7-12 until 1964 when Mount Carmel Academy opened adjacent to physical education classrooms providing dual enrollment opportunities for girls until 1984 when Girls' Middle School moved into its own building next door making Webster again one block long with only one stoplight between each block! In fall 2002 Drumright Elementary also opened located across I-635 from the old burned down buildings formerlyserving grades pre K through 8th grade right next door! After years of requests by parentsaramble out front playing catch afternoons during summer weather while cars pulled up outside waiting for their children inside while teachers made progress reports insideDrumright has been open ever since!
