Weatherford is a city in northwestern Texas and the county seat of Tarrant County. The population was 103,731 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Red River near its confluence with the Trinity River. The first ammunition found in Weatherford was shot from cannons by Spanish traders in 1736. Ammunition production began in 1847 when a company named "Houston & Company" erected a factory to produce fire-arms for export. The firm became known asHouston Arsenal and continued to produce firearms until 1897. During this time, it manufactured rifles, pistols, shotguns, artillery shells, grenades and other munitions for use by both Confederate States of America (CSA) forces during the American Civil War (1861-1865) and Mexican forces during that war as well as World War I (1914-1918). In 1903 oil became available in Northwest Texas and production at Houston Arsenal increased; however, because of high prices associated with oil revenues Houston Arsenal ceased operations by 1907. By 1910 it had become apparent that oil production would not continue to increase so armament manufacturing shifted focus to new facilities such as those built at Midland Park north of Wichita Falls in 1913 and then Fort Worth in 1915 before returning to Wichita Falls full time in 1927 after Midland Park closed due to lack of customers. Ammunition production resumed again at Houston Arsenal following World War II when demand grew for bullets made specifically for anti-tank warfare devices such as rockets and flame throwers which were newly developed during that conflict. In 1973 Armoury Industries merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Company becoming Winchester Ammunition Corporation Limited until 1987 when it was spun off into its own corporation called Winchester Repeating Arms Company Europe LTD., now part of EAA Incorporated. From 1967 through 1982 Armoury processed weapons parts from plant east of Wichita Falls for Nisqually Rifle Works which built sniper rifles used by US military personnel deployed abroad including Operation Desert Storm (1991), Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003), Afghanistan/Pakistan 2001–present and Hurricane Katrina relief efforts 2005-2006 while also providing assembly & finishing services for rifle barrels produced there since 1942 by Wilson rifle Barrels Incorporated In 1990 Browning Firearms Manufacturing Corporation merged with Remington Arms Co., making Browning one of two major firearm companies within Remington plc.; along with Glock AG who formed Glock USA LLC upon merger in 2013. Weatherford is a small town in the county of Webb in the US state of Texas. The population was 5,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fort Worth metropolitan area. Weatherford was founded by John P. Weatherford and his family in 1871 as a cattle ranching community east of Fort Worth. The town grew rapidly during World War I with an influx of soldiers and their families, as well as farmers who adopted livestock for meat or leather production. Development stalled after World War II because of low commodity prices and competition from more populous towns in the region. In the late 1990s, however, development recommenced with construction of a new shopping center and high school, along with renovations to many local businesses including a new library and courthouse. The current nameakes its origin from prominent military figure John P. Weatherford Sr., who served two terms as Governor of Texas (1936-1938). A native Texan, Weatherford's nickname "Old No More" derived from his support for Prohibition during the early years following Texas' entry into the Union (1846). After becoming governor, he became known for his anti-corruption crusade which led to convictions throughout much of Texas' political leadership then and now; one such case involved former Speaker BOB Hensarling (R-TX) who had been indicted but never convicted on bribery charges before being elected speaker in 2017 despite admitting guilt about attempted bribery several decades earlier

Weatherford is a town in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,700 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Llano River and its municipal boundaries include the towns of Weatherford and Marlin. The first people to live in what is now Weatherford were Native American traders who traveled along the Llano River. They hunted deer and rabbits for their food and trade goods with other tribes. In 1827, Spanish explorer Antonio López de Arana passed through the area on his way from Vera Cruz to Santa Fe. He named the river "Llano" after his friend Captain José de la Vega y Campos (1787-1855), who had accompanied him during part of his journey. In 1839, Jiquián Flores set up a trading post near present-day Weatherford on what is now FM 1597. This early village gradually grew into a small town due to its strategic location - close to both water routes leading southward to San Antonio and northward to Houston - as well as its access to timber and agricultural land. By 1860, weather had turned so hot that farmers began moving out of central Texas into higher ground around Austin; however, many residents of Weatherford stayed behind because there was no available land nearer by for farming or ranching purposes. When Sam Houston became president of the Republic of Texas in 1845, he ordered Colonel John Hogg (1811-1853) westward across Mexico in search of new territory for Texans – specifically eastward toward Brazoria County where he believed some potential settlers could be found west of Buffalo Bayou (now I-10). On July 25, 1845, Hogg's wagon train passed through Weatherford on their way westigoing towards Brazoria County under cover of darkness; they were stopped by Mexican troops stationed at an Indian Fort at Sulphur Springs about six miles northwest of present-day Weatherford. After negotiations failed ensuing with Mexican Commandos led by General Vicente Guerrero (1814-1867), Hogg's forces marched back eastward unharmed but not without capturing three cannons and two horses belonging to Mexican Commander Francisco Allende Pérez de Mena y Mendoza y Vargas (1795-1865) while they were passing through town that night on their return trip from exploring Brazoria County lands east of Buffalo Bayou just beyond present dayMarlin Lake! With this event historians date July 25th as when Texans first encountered Mexico's military occupation within our county limits! As events unfolded it seems most likely these cannons were captured because information existed allowing Mexicansossier cavalry units operating in Chihuahuan Desert southwestern TX coastal areas including Monterrey CA & El Paso TX en route home from battle against US Army Atascosa Mountains Campaign December 8th 1846 & January 9th 1747
Weatherford is located in Hudspeth County, Texas. It was founded in 1836 by John Weatherford and his wife Rebecca Caldwell. The townspeople built a log cabin and started trading with the surrounding area. In 1849, Weatherford became the county seat of Hudspeth County.
