Five years later another gunman named Clyde Barrow shot dead six employees of the Houston & Texas Central Railroad Company with two handguns he had purchased from local dealerships. This event is known as the “Waco Massacre” because it resulted in up to 20 deaths total across several counties near Waco (now Baylor University). The gun violence that occurred throughout these years led to increased gun regulation efforts across America. In 1934, President Franklin D Roosevelt signed into law what is known as The National Firearms Act which banned certain types of firearms including those used for hunting or target shooting within specific geographic areas (Los Angeles County specifically). This act also made it more difficult for citizens to buy firearms without government approval and made it illegal for anyone under 21 years old to possess any type of firearm whatsoever without possessing training and registration documents. Despite this legislation being passed by Congress and being effective at limiting access to firearms by criminals and others who desired them, shootings still took place throughout America due to various factors such as gangs vying for control over firearms or individuals performing unsafe actions while handling weapons such as leaving them unlocked unattended or failing to take proper precautions when cleaning them. Despite these dangers however, Gun violence rates have gradually decreased over time in most major metro areas across America due mostly to better public awareness campaigns that have been running since then designed specifically targeting shooters rather than civilians (Haley)).

Waxahachie is a town in San Antonio County, Texas, United States. The population was 9,521 at the 2010 census. Waxahachie is located in the eastern edge of San Antonio and is bordered to the north by Midland, to the east by Tomball and to the south by Humble. It has a humid subtropical climate (Köppen: Cwa) that encompasses much of central Texas. The first permanent settler in what is now Waxahachie was James Braidwood who arrived in 1836 and named it after his home county of Yorkshire, England. He founded a trading post near present-day Midland on October 12, 1836. The post served as a junction for travelers traveling between San Antonio and Houston on the old Sam Rayburn Expressway. In 1838 Braidwood sold his holdings to John Kirby who established Kirby's Landing which became one of Waxahachie's most important business districts. In 1840 Waco Methodist Episcopal Church was organized here with Reverend Elisha Cook officiating as its first pastor In 1846 Texan Andrew Johnson visited this area while he was campaigning for president; he made an unsuccessful attempt to enter San Antonio through Kirby's Landing instead going on to Fort Bend County where he later won election as President of the United States In 1865 General Sherman’s army passed through this area during their march from Dallas northeastward across Texas into Oklahoma Waco had been burned down by Confederate forces soon after Johnston’s surrender there on April 14th 1865 but most of its inhabitants were able to rebuild and continue trade under new leadership including David Beasley who would become mayoralty candidate for Ward 2 in 1968 Lamar Smith becomes Senator fromTX in 1966 fighting until being impeached; he might have lost if not for help received from then Governor Connally It has been said that "the town foundered when oil riches turned sour" although some claim it started out well before that with smallpox control having helped spur settlers into making this community their home
