On July 6th 1915 local resident Darnell Earle Barton shot and killed three prominent membersof Congress including Representative Lloyd George who represented TX' 8th Congressional District which includedWaco- leaving behind questions about how exactly Barton got access to these individuals' personal information since he knew nothing about them aside from their political affiliation (the shooting also left two congressmen dead). After Barton's shooting rampage it quickly emerged that he wasn't alone with this typeof misconduct among individual citizens within TX; many similar incidents would occur throughout America during World War I despite widespread laws prohibiting such acts due to fears that they could lead to revolution or civil war). In November 1920 Earle Barton plead insanity resultingfrom his crime spree againstCongressmen but this did not prevent him from being tried again following another Rampage several months later involving Congressman John Grimes who also lived closeby w/ Barton on Gadsden Road- Barnton shot Grimes 4 times before killing himself outsideGadsden Jail although Grimes survived each shot all but one causinggrimes death certificate#1 remaining unsigned until recently when it finally surfaced online courtesyof researcher Darrell K Royalty Jr.. As previously mentioned prior Darnell Earle Barton alias Arliss Lamar Bean had been arrested several timesfor various misdemeanors early 1900s through 1910 prior to his fateful shootings againstCongressmen however none resulted in charges filed against him due to lack evidence either way(most likely because authorities lacked enough incriminating evidence against him)). Therefore we can concludethat although Arliss Lamar Bean may have legally been insane at the time he committed these crimesit does not mean that he should have been convicted based upon existing evidence
Waco, Texas was founded by the Comanche and Kiowa tribes in 1837. The town was named after Waco, a small Mexican settlement located about halfway between Fort Worth and Austin. In 1847, General Sam Houston sent an army to drive the Indians out of Texas. The Battle of Waco began on April 6, 1847, when a brigade under GeneralHouston attacked the Indian village of Waco. After several hours of fighting, the Indians retreated with heavy losses. Houston then ordered his brigade to march into town to plunder it for supplies. A group of Texans who had been hiding in wagons outside the town surrendered to Houston and his men after hearing about the battle from some residents nearby. Houston renamed Waco "Humble" in honor of his victory at Waco. The town grew rapidly due to its location and became a major center for trade in Texas during the mid-19th century. In 1877, Waco was destroyed by fire while being used as a military base by Mexico City's Army encamped near Fredericksburg TX
