This innovative design would later be copied by many other companies and become exceedingly popular among law enforcement officers across the United States over the years. After leaving office as Sheriff of Victoria, TX., Pat Garrett returned home to start up his own firearms manufacturing company called Defense Ordnance Corporation (D&O).
