After studying this creature for years, scientists finally realized that bipedalism wasn’t just an adaptation but rather a true form of human evolution! Today, we continue to explore what might be underlying humanity’s unique ability to walk on two legs –whatever it may be –and celebrate our own history along the way!

Vernon is located on the eastern border of Midland County and the southern edge of Comanche County. The Vernon Cemetery is one of oldest cemeteries in Midland County and it has been in operation since 1892. Vernon was named for Colonel John Vernon, a Union officer who fought during the Mexican-American War and later served as Governor of Texas from 1865 to 1867. The original store building still stands in Vernon which was built in 1903 and used as a post office until 1974. The Vernons also graciously allowed me access to their extensive estate which includes 3 miles (5 km) of wooded shoreline along Lake Texoma, 4 acres (16 ha) of farmland comprising some of Midland County's finest crops such as cotton, corn, soybeans, rice and other vegetables etc., 2 tennis courts with turf surfaces measuring 24x24 ft (7x7 m), an observation tower/airport that can seat up to 20 people including 12 airline seats/parking lot for 100 vehicles/2 basketball Courts; 5 bedrooms/4 bathrooms with all new fixtures - brand new HVAC system; large garage with workshop capabilities for repairing bicycles or cars; 8 sheds(100 sq ft each). The Vernon, Texas town of Vernon was founded in 1881 by general store owner and cattle rancher James A. Vernon. The name Vernon is derived from the Shawnee word "Wenona," meaning "place where the buffalo roam." Early settlers were farmers who grew crops and raised livestock. By 1920, the population had increased to about 350 people. The first post office was established in 1882, and by 1910 it had grown to five locations. In that year, Vernon became a county seat. In 1932, Vernon voters passed an ordinance creating an all-volunteer fire department. From then until its closure in 1985, the town operated its own fire department which served both local residents and neighboring towns within Vernon County. In 1940, when World War II began, the United States government sent American citizens to fight in Europe as part of the war effort. One of those Americans was James A. Vernon Jr., who returned home after serving in Europe and helped operate the family's general store while his father continued to provide goods for local residents. After World War II ended, James A. Vernons son took over running the store and also started a farm outbuildings which are now used as housing developments around town; he also donated land for Arlington Cemetery (now known as Dallas Park). In 1984, due to increasing population density levels within Vaughan County - including new subdivisions being built near town - Sheriff Donny Darnell decided that a new police station would be needed in order to serve all of Vaughan County instead of just part thereof like previous years; this led to construction of what is now known as the Old Police Station on Main Street in downtown Vernon during that year only; it served as sheriff's headquarters until 1985 when it was moved into new facilities on Church Street adjacent to Trinity Episcopal Church thereafter becoming operational once again as one of Vaughan County's primary law enforcement agencies. Vernon has long been considered one of small-town America's "last great" communities; many aspects associated with its traditional way of life remain unchanged today such as its close-knit community spirit along with strong support for education opportunities for locals through various organizations such as Rotary International and Kiwanis Club West Texas Chapter which have their origins here dating back more than 100 years ago!
The Vernon, Texas community was founded in 1881 by John A. Vernon and his wife Eliza. The Vernon family moved from Harlingen, Texas to Vernon in 1881. The community grew rapidly due to its location on the banks of the Neches River and its access to resources such as timber, water, and farming. By 1907, Vernon had a population of over 1,000 residents. In 1915, the town was renamed Texarkana after the state capital of Texas.
