In recent years there have been efforts to revitalize portions of town by committing to spending millions dollars on infrastructure repairs like improved roads and sidewalks, new water systems, updated police forces etcetera while also providing grants/financial assistance to businesses who adopt green technologies like solar panels/water heaters etcetera

The engineer succeeded and DeMille was able to listen to his music unimpeded while filming at night without fear of being disrupted or disturbed by sound equipment malfunctioning.

Uvalde, Texas is a town in Hudspeth County, Texas, United States. The population was 7,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. Uvalde was founded in 1881 by Scotsman Donald McKay and his family as a cattle station on the San Antonio River. The name "Uvalde" means "the deep". The first post office in Uvalde was established in 1884. In 1912, the town became an independent municipality under the name of Utopia. On October 20, 1916, it merged with Hudspeth County to form a new county with this name. The current name of Uvalde comes from Spanish words meaning "the outlet" or "mouth of the river". In 1932, two oil wells were drilled near Uvalde and began production; these led to rapid growth for the town and county during that decade. In 1937–38, work began on building a dam across the San Antonio River at Hondo which would create Lake Travis reservoir; however, this project failed to materialize becauseOODA (Oklahoma Corporation oil Administration) intervened militarily to stop its development.
