Uvalde has been home to the Uvalde Chihuahua Foothills cattle ranch since 1898 and now offers visitors opportunities to view the herd on its own property as well as explore nearby towns and villages such as Hudspeth and Georgetown.

Uvalde is located on the Uvalde River and has a total area of 21 square miles (55 km²). The first white man to set foot in what would become Uvalde was James Hance on February 13th, 1836. He and his family built a cabin near present-day downtown Uvalde on the bank of the river. In 1888 United States v. Apache Indian Nation resulted in OSHA regulations that required all businesses with10 or more employees to post a safety poster stating "Apache Indians are not allowed inside." Ranching continued until about 1910 when rubber production began upriver at Red Rock Arsenal and other plants nearby which created new demand for labor force within town limits while also expanding trade with surrounding counties. With new industry came social changes as well; women started working outside of their homes during this time period while still wearing traditional clothing such as headdresses and skirts; many men left for better opportunities elsewhere during this time frame due to advances in transportation and communication technology. In 1968 cattle rustling became an issue with local ranchers wanting to acquire feed supplies from adjacent ranches so they could maintain their herds during lean years; however it soon escalated into what became known as “The War on Cattle” between local law enforcement and ranch hands over control of land rights necessary for sustenance purposes while also claiming exclusive use of certain riverside areas used by both groups for drinking water and grazing purposes. This type of holster did not work very well because it was difficult to use for long periods of time without having your gun fall out (due to its tight fit). A more successful design for Holster Design came about in 1875 when John Brown created the Browning Automatic Pistol Holster – one of the first pistols designed with an automatic safety feature! This particular holster allowed you to fire your pistol automatically by reaching behind you and pulling up on the grip strap (similar to how today’s pistol owners operate their firearms). By doing this, you prevented yourself from losing control while carrying your firearm and made it much easier for you to store your weapon securely.

Uvalde is a town in Comal County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Comal County. Uvalde was founded in 1846 and named for General Antonio Armijo who fought in the Mexican-American War. The first post office in Uvalde was established on November 10, 1846, by Jno. Hines. The first settlers were Nathan Bechtel and others from Pennsylvania and New York City area. In 1851, John Fenton organized a group of men to prospect for land around Nacogdoches Creek near present day Mission San Fernando Rey de Acuña. They named their new settlement after General Armijo's old headquarters at Pecos Rancho del Rio Grande (now Anahuac). The townspeople soon realized they needed more building supplies so they erected a store and sawmill on the banks of Clear Fork River where it flows into Nacogdoches Creek. A second store and mill were built about two miles west of present day Uvalde on what is now First Street between High Street and Main Street. This location became known as “the Old Town” because it remained until 1861 when it moved to its current location along First Street north of Canton Avenue
