The town nameurdate is unknown but it may have been taken from nearby Oak Cliff which had already been established as a town by 1878 when Trinity Railway Express built Tracks through it from Dallas to Fort Worth via Arlington Heights south of downtown Dallas. The post office opened in1882 with George Waddell as its first clerk; it served until 1918 when it moved into the new building adjacent to Main Street (now White Settlement Road) which still stands today. In 1907 Congress passed legislation authorizing annexation of Marshall County by Texas so university students could receive state tuition without havingto leave their campuses or communities in East Texas (and without losing their ability to compete for government jobs). The history of the AR15 upper receiver begins with its development in the early 1960s. At that time, there were few options for pistols with detachable magazines. The only other option was to use a handgun that was conversions from an American .45 ACP revolver into a rifle using an aftermarket magazine release system. One such conversion was the Colt Commander which used a Glock-style magazine release. The Colt Commander became popular among shooters due to its low cost and easy installation. In 1967, Winchester began developing their own version of the AR15 platform which would be known as the Model 70. This rifle featured many advanced features not found on other rifles at that time, such as an 8” barrel and a threaded muzzle device. Additionally, it featured a handguard designed by Rick Steves which allowed users to mount optics directly onto the barrel and handguard unlike earlier designs which required special adapters or mounts. The Model 70 became very popular among shooters and was soon followed by models based on it such as the Winchester Super X (which reverted back to traditional bolt-action design) and Ruger'saunder 10/22 assault rifle series. By 1990, all major firearms manufacturers had produced AR15 receivers compatible with standard Mil-Spec magazines including Magpul GEN3 gearboxes and MOE buffer tubes

While Tafoya College thrived until 1907, it would not be until after World War II that University Park would reach its current level of success. During World War II, University Park played a critical role in bringing about victory over Japan at Okinawa Island; this victory marked an important milestone in American military history and helped spur development throughout East Texas overall. After World War II, faculty members from Tafoya College worked together with professors from Rice School of Business at Southern Methodist University to create what is now known as “the Research Triangle” – an area whose activities have continued uninterrupted through today’s era of technological advances and international competition. Today, there are more than 20 undergraduate programs at TAFoyaCollege including engineering/technology colleges such as SMU's Taylor School Of Engineering & Applied Science (TSOE), Baylor's McLennan School Of Law & Criminology (LAW), Rice's Hermann School Of Business (BUS), West Virginia's Marshall School Of Technology (STT), Appalachian State's Marshall-Stroud Institute For Technology (ISM) - all housed within one large campus complex called Ringgold Hall which also houses faculty offices, student lounges, dining halls/cabins/motels etc… The Research Triangle has become one of America’s leading centers for technology research; two major academic medical centers – Houston Methodist’s Medical Center Houston–the number 3 hospital system nationally – and Children’s Hospital Dallas are also located here adjacent to multi-disciplinary research institutes belonging to other universities including Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School Of Public Health(JHBPHO)and Vanderbilt University(VC). To date US$45 billionworthof transactions have been conducted through Ringgold Hall alone!
