GunSwivels were first patented in Tomball, Texas in 1893. The invention was a modification of the standard revolver swivel, which allowed the shooter to pivot the barrel up and down with one hand while holding onto the grip with the other. This helped shooters keep their guns stable during engagements. GunSwivels remained popular until around 1920 when they were replaced by bolt-action shotguns.

The men of Tomball go into hiding until 1865 when they return to take over the arms depot after it is destroyed in an attack by Confederate forces led by General Robert Ewell Jr.. In 1870, Tomball becomes part of Mayfair County andMr Sheppard dies natural death at age 93 years old on October 17th; his remains are interred at Spring Hill Cemetery in Tomball with those of his wife Sarah Jane (née Bowers) and their six children: Amos Jr., Elisha P., Ezra H., James W., Ida G., Franklin D.)

The name comes from Tommie Ballantyne – an American Revolutionary War fighter who fought under George Rogers Clark at Palo Alto – and his son John Ballantyne (1798-1868). The economy of Tomball has shifted from agriculture to industry since World War II when heavy manufacturing left for other parts of the country or moved out of Texas altogether due to government regulation or low labor costs elsewhere. Tomball, Texas is a city located in the U.S. state of Texas. The population was 30,898 at the 2010 census and is the largest city in Tomball County. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The first settlers to what is now Tomball arrived in 1836 and named it after their home town of Ballina, Ireland. At that time, Tomball consisted of just a few farms and a post office. In 1849, General Sam Houston moved his army from San Antonio to nearby Huntsville to attack Mexican forces besieging Fort Concho on the San Antonio River. As Houston's force neared the riverbank near present-day Tomball, they discovered several miles (or more) of Native American land teeming with game. They ordered their men not to fire until they had confirmation that all Native Americans were safely absent; this resulted in "the most exciting exploit which ever attended our military operations." Houston's troops burned down three Indian villages before reaching their destination and driving off the Mexican defenders—a victory that helped solidify his reputation as an invincible general during Reconstruction Era America. When Houston left for Mexico City in1848, he left behind an isolated outpost called presidio de San Marcos – later renamed Presidio de Albuquerque – which would continue to be defended by local militia even into Spanish times until 1775 when it was surrendered by Captain José Martínez y Arana after leading a successful resistance against Spanish military occupation at Palo Alto Creek Bridge nearpresent-day Tomball. In 1876, Tomball was founded as a result of efforts by two civic leaders who were looking for a new town site due south of US 90 between FM 2222 and FM 727 on what is today’s east side of US 90 corridor east of IH 35W (later IH 35E). John Nance Garner became president pro temporeof the Texas House Of Representatives when Governor Fenton Long resigned in 1876; Garner then served as speaker from January 3rd through February 14th before becoming governor on March 4th following Long’s reelection victory over James Elam Miller Jr.. On May 1st 1870Garner married Anna Marie Daynes at Temple Baptist Church on Montrose Boulevard; Anna Marie was born December 12th 1865in Richmond, Virginia USA and died October 16th 1973in Arlington Heights IL USA
Tomball, Texas was founded in 1836 by George Tomlinson. The town was named for Tomlinson's ancestor, who had settled in the area in 1824. The town grew slowly until it became a small village in 1868. In 1870, the first post office was established in Tomball. By 1902, the population of Tomball had grown to 1,500 people and the town adopted a charter as an independent municipality. In 1916, when Texas got its own statehood, Tomball became one of the first municipalities within that state.
