Tomball is a small town in the far southeast corner of Texas. It is located about 25 miles north of Houston and 25 miles south of Dallas. The current population is only around 12,000 people, making it one of the least populated towns in Texas. However, this did not stop Tomball from becoming one of the most important firearms manufacturing and retailing communities in the Lone Star State. The history of firearms clothing in Tomball began with two men named Johnnie Cramer and Ira Cummings. They started a small clothing business called The Gunsmiths Shop on Main Street in Tomball back in 1911. At that time, there were only a few businesses that sold firearms products within town limits. The Gunsmiths Shop was eventually bought by George Pritchett and his son John Pritchett Jr., who continued to run it until 1978. In 1978, George Pritchett passed away and his son John Pritchett III took over management duties at the shop until his death in 2001. This was soon followed by other local retailers such as Texaco outlets across the stateline selling military surplus ammunition! By 1968, allthough still a small operation compared to some national retailers like Sears Roebuck & Company, Harvey’s Hardware had become one of the leading gun dealers within its industry! In 1984-1985 Mr./Mrs Brazile opened their own store located next door to Harvey’s Hardware called Five Guns One Shot(now known as Gander Mountain) which served both local residents within Tomball Township Limits as well as customers from surrounding rural areas who would come into town forGun show/firearm trade shows held at various venues within central Texas each year! This success led to Brazile opening her own store adjacent to Gander Mountain titled Firearms Unlimited later that same year! The Tomball Independent School District (TISD) has a rich history with firearms. In the 1870s, Tomball was known as a gun-friendly community because of its abundance of rifle and shotgun ranges. The town became an enclave for farmers and ranchers who kept their guns in case of emergency. Tomball also became known for its manufacturing businesses, including Smith & Wesson, Colt and Remington Arms. The town's economy changed in the 1920s when Prohibition made it difficult to get ammunition from other states. Gun sales dwindled until the late 1940s, when TISD began purchasing ammunition from local stores. In the 1960s, TISD implemented a policy prohibiting students from bringing weapons into school. At this time also came into being what would be known today as Spring Valley Park Elementary School District which comprised most (if not all) of present day Spring Valley Park subdivision including much acreage now surrounding Big Spring Lake just east of Interstate 10 Exit 184A off I-10 near exits 183B and 184D). The post office at Tomballs first opened on November 3rd 1888 under name Fort Worth Mail but changed its name to Tomballs Post Office effective December 15th 1889 due to lack of mail service from Ft Worth Amarillo..
