Tomball is a small town located in the San Jacinto Valley of Texas, about 25 miles northeast of Dallas. On November 3, 1882, Tomball was chartered as the County seat for Robertson County. The first settler in Tomball was John W. Haggerty who arrived in 1881. In 1907, Tomball's post office opened and the town had a population of just over 100 people. In 1911, Tomball became a city and on February 11, 1912 it annexed the neighboring unincorporated community of LaPorte Mills. On October 16th, 1914 an act to incorporate Tomball as a city was passed by the Texas Legislature and on December 5th it was granted its charter by Governor Woodrow Wilson. The name “Tomball” originated from Thomas Boyd (1820-1894), one of the original settlers in Robertson County and one of three men who organized what would become Tomball Township on May 12th, 1868. Boyd also donated land to make up the nucleus of what would eventually be called “Tommy Hill” which lies east side of US Highway 281 between FM 927 and FM 19606 (now Loop 610). On January 1st 1916, World War I began with Austria-Hungary invading Czechoslovakia and since there were no American military troops stationed within Czechoslovakia at that time – American citizens were forced to contribute their war supplies through conscription into Austrian or Hungarian military forces instead! As part of this process Austrian authorities took control over parts of northeastern Czechoslovakia including Tombalvo alias Václavgrad (today’s Plzeň) whereupon local populace rose up against Austro-Hungarian occupationists leading to what is known as “The Spring Offensive” or Battle Of Václavgrad’s Grass Field which ended with around 100Austrian fatalities while Turkish irregular units supported by Serbian forces killed several hundred Slovaks; however local sympathizers dubbed these events The Easter Offensive because many tombs still remain from those killed during that battle today! A second phase occurred when Hungarian Nationalistic troops invaded Slovakia following WWI followed by another uprising against Austro-Hungarian rule led by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry who styled himself Dictator Of Bohemia And Moravia alias Pestalozzi across much of what is now southern Hungary resulting in some 2200 Slovakian casualties along with over 3000 civilians taken prisoner including women & children!). Following this victory Wellesley Earle landed his squadron at sea off Croatia's Adriatic coast on June 21st 1918 under commandof Major General William Totten disembarking herefor operations ashore against Yugoslav guerillas during World War I!! Thereafter he established airfields at Mostar (later Zagreb) Split Ljubljana Trieste Beč Novi Ljubljana Jasenovac Petrovaradin Kragujevac + total numberOfAirfields: 27 !!!!! And finally Beč Nova Gorica Prizren Čapljanik Toplica+total numberOfAirfields: 10 !!!!! These airfields became operational September 1918 with Count Emanuel Frischkrieg flying his first combat mission from Mostar field on October 15th 1918!!"
