They moved into what is now known as the Market Place building and continue to sell firearms and ammunition until 1912 when they retired for good. Development of the area occurred slowly until railroads arrived in the early 20th century and brought business and jobs to Granbury. In 1907, settlers built a store and post office on present-day US 83rd Street within walking distance of the original granary farmsteads that had been abandoned for years due to poor soil conditions. A second store opened in 1912 on present-day US 183rd Street east of Speedway Boulevard which served as an important link between Granbury and Austin during its early days as an agricultural center with much attention paid to irrigation systems and trucking needs for deliveries to markets all over central Texas

He designed a Holster which allowed the pistol to be carried without taking away any hand freedom and allowed shooters to fire their weapons while wearing gloves. In 1865, Major General George Armstrong Custer used a Colt M1911A1 handgun in battle at Little Bighorn Mountain when he was shot dead by Sitting Bull. This event is considered one of America’s most famous battlefield successes. After Custer’s death, many new holsters were developed for pistols that were made specifically for this type of weapon such as those made by Colt Firearms Corporation under the name “Custer Holsters” . The Colony, Texas is a small town located in Wise County, Texas. The community was founded in 1881 by American settlers and has been known for its agriculture and ranching industries ever since. The town was named for the English colony of Virginia in North America which was established in 1607. The colonists were attracted to the area because of its rich soil and natural resources. The first permanent settler in the Colony was James Wills who arrived in 1881. Wills purchased a piece of land from John Fenton and built his home, the Gossamer Cottage, on what is now Hwy 249. In 1886, James Epps moved to the Colony and opened a grocery store called the General Store. Over time, other businesses such as a doctor’s office, blacksmith shop, bank and school were opened as well. With this growth, many families decided to move to the Colony because it offered an affordable lifestyle with good schools and churches nearby. In 1916, the Colony had a post office which served all of Wise County until it was discontinued in 1970. Today, there are only two homes remaining in the original settlement which are both used as museums- one dating back to 1881 and the other being built in 1926- both are owned by local residents who reside within walking distance of each other.] The early settlers of The Colony were attracted to what they saw as an opportunity to farm lands that would be available only if located alongRiver Road (later Ulysses S Grant Boulevard). They also believed that their new community would be immune from robbery or violence like those experienced around them on their travels through central Texas during this time period (1880-1920). After several years of planning and construction, shovels started turning over soil at The Colony on October 1st 1881 when Cyrus Kinsley bought 8 acres from John Fenton for $1 per acre2 . 3 Although initial attempts at farming were not successful due to lack of irrigation equipment or too much rain; Kinsley quickly realized that he had found his ideal spot for his pioneering agricultural experiment4 . 4 Colonial farmers enjoyed high yields due to Proper management practices such as rotation crops (changing crops every six months), using manure rather than fertilizer pellets5 , using windmills6 etc7 . 7 A series of surveys conducted by Ladd & Co., surveying landowners near River Road between 1880-1887 revealed that most people living within three miles radius did not own any slaves8 . 8 This indicates that although white civilization began arriving into western Texas after Mexican independence via Santa Anna’s Expedition (1867), slave market prices had already begun falling precipitously9 before these Texans arrived10 . 11 As early pioneers discovered more about their surroundings they began building themselves houses out of logs lumber provided free by government officials11 ; some became so successful that they actually developed businesses outside of colonial society12 ! 12 One such businessman was Cyrus Kinsley who successfully operated two grocery stores while living off his land until his death at 95 years old13 ."

The colonists were led by Captain David Milam and his company of volunteers. The colonists built their first fort in 1837, called Fort Worth. In 1840, they founded a second fort, named Brazosport. Brazosport became the capital of the Colony.
