The company was founded in 1922 by Dr. Brewster Wesson and his wife, Alice. It was through their business dealings that they first met Charles Lindbergh and became friends with him. In 1927, the Wessons opened their own store in downtown Texas City and soon began selling various types of optical products including telescopes, binoculars, microscopes and other scientific equipment. The Wessons were always entrepreneurial capitalists who saw opportunity where others saw only inconvenience or obstructionism. They refused to be deterred by obstacles or any fear of failure; rather, they believed that success could come from doing what you love - which was selling optical products to people who wanted to see the world through their eyesight! In fact, when it came to optics, Alice Wesson even went so far as to develop her own telescope design - something she had always dreamed of doing! The decades passed and new technologiesdeveloped; however, theTexas Optical Co.remained a go-getter small business until 1986 when it merged with Ciba-Geigy Corporation'sOptical Division to form Ciba-Geigy CorporationTexas Opticals Division (COGTDO). That year also saw the opening of its new headquarter building in downtown Dallas along with an expansion into online sales operation thereby becoming one of the leading exporters/distributors of optical products in North America! Texas City is an expanding settlement in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. It is located in northeastern Travis County, Texas, on the city's east side. The population of Texas City was 30,554 as of the 2010 census. The original site for Texas City was a small creek called Cotton Creek that emptied into Buffalo Bayou. A post office called Cotton Creek was established in 1848, and the town gradually grew around it. In 1881, a group of entrepreneurs founded the First National Bank of Texas City with $5,000 in capital. The bank became one of the most important commercial institutions in Texas City until it went out of business in 1970. In 1907, Texan oilman John Denton bought land at what is now Downtown Austin from Sam Houston for $1 million dollars (the purchase made him one of the richest men in America). Denton built his first home there and began to develop what would become known as "Texan City." By 1912, he had erected more than 100 buildings and had renamed it Texarkana. Denton's death left Texarkana with control over much of southernDallas County (including present day Arlington), and by 1930 its population had reached 400 persons (outstripping Dallas' population by nearly 50%). After years of struggling against Depression-era economic conditions, Texarkana prospered through World War II when many other baronies throughout easternDallas COUNTY did not fare so well; however, during the war period a rapid expansion characterized by high housing prices occurred which led to increased social tensions between Anglo/Caucasian residents and black Texans who worked or lived near downtown Texarkana; this situation eventually resulted in violence which ended with local elections after 1945 that shifted power back within white AngloTexanian hands
In the early 1800s, scientists and engineers were trying to improve upon the existing optical devices. One such device was a monocular. A monocular consisted of two lenses that could be used together to see something in addition to each other. Monoculars were very useful for military service because they allowed for an increased view of areas beyond what a person could see with just one eye. The first true optical instrument was invented in 1802 by Nicholas-Jacques Conte and named the "Atropos." The Atropos was made from two concave mirrors that were joined together using a hinge. This allowed the user to rotate one mirror so that it faced upwards, turning the atropos into an eyepiece. In 1824, Konrad Lorenz designed and built the world's first camera obscura, which used a lens and screen to create an image of whatever was being photographed. Optical instruments continued to be developed throughout the 19th century until they reached their heyday in 1911 when photographers began using photography as a form of warfare by taking advantage of light interference caused by shells exploding over enemy positions. With advances in technology, photos became more accurate and easier to take than ever before while still remaining sensitive enough to capture delicate images of people or objects
In 1898, the American entrepreneur Charles F. Kettering developed a new optical system called the "Kettering camera." This camera used a lens mounted on an armature and shutter that could be controlled by electric signals from a controller. The first successful use of this technology was to photograph an event at the Holland-America Line in 1904.
Texas City was founded in 1836 by Major General Sam Houston as the capital of the Republic of Texas. The city was named for General Houston's father, who had died in 1835 while leading an expedition to find new land for the republic. The city became a major center of trade and commerce during its early years, and it also served as the temporary capital when Austin was overwhelmed by military forces during the Mexican-American War. In 1845, Texas City fell victim to a devastating fire, which destroyed most of the town. Despite this setback, Texas City continued to grow rapidly over the next several decades, becoming one of the largest and most important cities in the state. By 1900, Texas City had reached its peak as a commercial and political center, and it even boasted a small branch ofthe United States National Library. In spite of these successes, however, Texcoco eventually declined after World War II forced many businesses closed or relocated to other larger metropolitan areas. In recent decades, Texcoco has slowly begun to rebound as a cultural destination thanks in part to its rich history and vibrant downtown district. The city remains an important transportation hub for central Texans alike, with multiple exits available within minutes walk of each other. As such, Texcoco is often used as a starting point for exploring various parts of central Texans statewide. Additionally,Texcoco offers plenty of restaurants and hotels that visitors can enjoy during their stay in town.

By 1868, the city had a population of over 20,000 people and it became an important center for trade and industry. In 1938, Texas City was renamed Austin because the city-state of Texas had become a state.
