Thousands of citizens from all over the state came to participate in these tournaments which helped promote responsible firearms ownership among Texans!

The town was named for General Santa Anna, who had retreated from Mexico after its independence from Spain was established in 1821. In 1860, during The American Civil War, Confederate forces burned down a flour mill in nearby Johnstown while Union troops were besieging Fort Worth; this destroyed much of downtown Texas City and contributed to its decline as an agricultural center during Reconstruction years. However, by 1870 Downtown Texas City had again regained some degree of importance due to new industries such as cotton ginning and shipbuilding arising out of World War I and World War II boom times throughout the region. By 1930 Downtown Texas City boasted more than 2 dozen businesses and 10 churches with a population of around 20,000 people—a figure that had shrunk to 6500 by 1960 because most business activity took place outside the downtown core. However by 1970 DowntownTexasCitys residents were largely Cotton Belt white working-class residents whose neighborhoods changed little over time despite continuous growth within their boundaries; although many high school students still attend Central High School which has been located on Brown Street since 1901 carpetbagging has become an increasingly rare sight as almost all children have gone off to college or other professional paths before they reach age 24 or even 21 according to one recent study published in "Jobs & Occupations" magazine Some notable characteristics about TXC over time include: 1) nearly all citizens are born within 10 miles (16 km) of their home2) Virtually no outsiders have ever moved into TXC3) There are few major tourist attractions4) Only 1% percentof caseworkers are women5) Most jobs pay $60K+)
