During World War II, the company produced munitions for the military and also manufactured radios and other electronics items for the war effort. In 1951, the company closed down due to economic problems. However, it reopened in 1959 as a gunsmiths shop and continued to produce firearms until 1985 when it closed again due to lack of business opportunities. Today, there is only one surviving firearm factory in Terrell – that of W.P. Phillips Firearms Manufacturing Co., which still produces handguns and riflescopes under a variety of different brands including Patriot Arms Corporation and American Outdoor Brands Company.

Terrell, TX is a small town in the Midwestern United States. It is located in Hays County, about 15 miles (24 km) east of Wichita Falls and 30 miles (48 km) south of Dallas. The population was 5,554 at the 2010 census. Terrell is part of the Wichita Falls Micropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1881 by entrepreneur James A. Tessler as a cattle ranch and farming community on the banks of Buffalo Lake near present-day Terrell. In 1907, Tessler donated land to form what would become Baylor University's campus here. The first post office opened in 1909 and remained open until it closed in 1965. In 1945, Terrell became one of the towns that merged with nearby Wichita Falls to form the Wichita Falls–Houston metropolitan area. James Bowie built a trading post near present-day renamed Terrell in 1827. Bowie's post served as a center for trade with the Cherokee Nation and other Indian tribes. The early settlers of this area were primarily farmers who grew crops and raised livestock. In 1872, an act of Congress createdTX,"an unorganized Territory within which no person had any voice or vote." TX" comprised most of what is now Texas." As such, it became completely ungovernable and lawless." The region saw great turmoil during its early years because there were no officials to administer justice or control the land. This resulted in many shootings and robberies among the new settlers. In 1874, a Constitutional Convention was convened to set up government in TX". At this meeting, delegates from all over the state gathered to create a new form of government that would be better suited for their specific needs." They decided on a unicameral legislature with a presidentially appointed judiciary and elected county commissioners." This system lasted until 1907 when it was replaced by the current system.'" Although these changes didn't improve much overall, they did help to stabilize things within TX'" as well as make it more self-sufficient.'" After centuries of being one large region without any say in matters, Texas finally gained its independence from Mexico on November 14th of that year."" This event marked a turning point for Texans because it gave them some measure of sovereignty over their own destiny.' With Texas' newfound sovereignty came opportunities to develop their economy and improve their infrastructure.' This period also saw great growth for Texans due to development outside of TX'." Railroads helped bring industry into thisarea while oil exploration began yielding valuable discoveries.'" All these developments led to growing wealth and prosperity for Texans.'" In 1915,' when World War I broke out,'Texans found themselves drawn into hostilities against Germany.'" As result, many businesses closed down due to wartime restrictions.'" However,' despite all this economic hardship,'Texasians still managed to pull together and fight back!'" By 1918', most aspects of society had stabilized following WWI"' but there remained some lingering anger towards Germany'" which contributed significantly to later political unrest""
Terrell was founded in 1836 by James M. Terrell and his wife, Jane. The town was named for James M. Terrell's father, who had preside over its establishment. In 1872, the town of Terrell merged with the neighboring community of Gainesville to form the new city of Gainesville.
