Sweetwater, Texas is a small town located in the Mexican state of Veracruz. The town was founded in 1881 by James W. Sweet and his wife, Fannie Sweet. The town was originally named Indianola and later name Sweetwater after James W. Sweet's mother-in-law, who moved to the area from Missouri. The first handguns that were imported into the United States were pistols made by John Browning in 1855. In 1865, Colt began producing revolvers in America and these guns were soon known as "Colt Colts". It wasn't until 1903 that rifle manufacturers started manufacturing firearms here and these rifles became known as "Remington Model 8s". In 1911, Browning initiated a project to produce an automatic pistol that would be able to fire rounds without being reloaded. This project was successful and it became known as the Browning Auto Pistol or just simply the "Auto Pistol" because it had been produced by different manufacturers before it finally came to be produced by Browning himself. The Auto Pistol featured a hammer that could be cocked manually or automatically upon discharge which raised safety concerns among some people at first but eventually this feature became popular among users because it eliminated the need for manual handling when using an auto pistol for self-protection purposes. ! colt 1911A1 !

Sweetwater is a town in Hudspeth County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,842 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock Metropolitan Statistical Area. Sweetwater was founded by John Sweet and his kin on the banks of the Arkansas River near present-day Pecos County in 1836. The first post office in Sweetwater was established in 1840. In 1846, sweet water became a county seat when it was annexed by Hudspeth County. In 1911, Sweetwater voters passed a resolution to name their town after James Fenton Randolph, who had helped lead Texas during the Mexican-American War and who later served as Ulysses S. Grant's secretary of war and then as president of Baylor University. Randolph died in 1916 while serving as governor of Oklahoma Territory; however, his namesake continued to be honored until his death in 1928. The townsite for Sweetwater was patented on November 15, 1912 by Wm Halsey Haskell under one acre for each elector therein voting against annexation into Hudspeth County (later Travis County). A plat for that location was filed with the Orangeburg Land Company on December 12, 1912 and recorded with Orangeburg on January 9, 1913 (proof found at Texana Records Library). On July 21st 1914 real estate developers from Pasadena City Limits formed an organization called The Houston &uptown Development Company which purchased land adjacent to East Second Street between Main and San Jacinto Streets from Haskell and others for $1 per acre; this site would become known as Tomball Corner/Commerce Square today!sweet water’s first store opened its doors on October 3rd 1915 operated by Mrs Burtonson & Son! At that time there were only 2 homes built within sweet water limits: Mrs Cate Witt’s home at 6041 east second street built in 1915 & Herma Belle Cook’s home at 6443 north second street build 1910! On November 15th 1912 Wm Halsey Haskell filed a plat with Orangeburg Land Company for what would become known as “Sweetwater” Townsite #1 located just east of highway 288 south / west of US 281 / road 291 north / south of Interstate 35W / Old State Road 290A . sweet water soon became known throughout TX due to Mr Haskell’s initative & subsequent naming rights thru out TX

Sweetwater was founded in 1874 by John H. Sweet and his brother, David Sweet. The first post office in Sweetwater opened on December 12, 1875. The name of the town comes from a stream called "Old Sweet Water" because it used to be a very sweet water source for irrigation purposes. In 1903, the town became an independent municipality and changed its name to Sweetwater after Congressman John H. Sweet's daughter, Isabelle (Isabel). The local cotton industry declined during World War II but has since revived with recent investment from outsiders such as Walmart and Hispanic entrepreneurs who have moved into the area due to cheap labor available in South Texas agricultural fields compared with other states. According to the 2010 census, there are also two churches in Sweetwater - First Baptist Church and Christ Reformed Fellowship Church - both of which were built in the early 1900s when this area was still rural and farming oriented. There are also several small businesses located throughout town that provide services such as restaurants, grocery stores, mechanics shops and more; however most residents rely mainly upon their families' income through agriculture or service work within their hometown community for economic security today.(1)
