AsJames Kenedy served his last term as Mayoralty Judge for Brazoria County in 1860 he decided upon moving his family – wife Julia Finney Kenedy (baptized 2nd December 1792 – buried 3rd January 1865), couple children James Wm., Anne/Eliza Juana Kenedy(baptized 8th October 1800 – died 4th February 1865) & infant son John Quincy Jr.(born 9th October 1802 – died 6th January 1865) back across country into what would be their final home until they moved permanently back into Houston upon their son’s birth there on 15th March 1870 thru purchase by E P Hobby Grand Trunk Railway Co [later Gulfport Electric] through Will Rogers Sr who donated 400 acres adjacent rancho San Jacinto [nowHouston] where current intersection IH-610 & Rice Road now stands
