The first local businesses were grocery stores (J's Grocery), bakery (Cunningham's Bakery), truck stop/restaurant (Webb's restaurant), auto parts store (Goodyear Tire & Rubber), and paint shop/ convenience store (Champion Hardware). Development accelerated following World War II when the area became known for its production of oil wells; this industry gave rise to more than one thousand jobs over the decades despite declines in output due to technological advances such as fracking . In 2000, Southwestern Bell merged with AT&T Corporation creatingsouthwest Telecommuter Incorporated which included telecommunications services provider southcentral Telephone Company which served Stephensonville as well as surrounding towns including Georgetown TX., Springdale AR., Hutchins TX., Weatherford TX., Hockley TX., Quanah OK.. At that time Stephensonville boasted over 100 telephone lines with DSL service available through southcentralTelecommunications company providing high speed internet access throughout much of north central Texas including downtown Houston! Municipal government ceased operations on July 1st 2009 whenSouthwestern Bell Corporation announced they would be closing all their offices across Texas effective July 1st 2009 effective all phone numbers will end up being disconnected starting August 15th 2009 goodbyes couldn't be held back any longer so many people are discontinuing their services before they're actually done!

Stephenville is a small town located in east Texas, about an hour and a half from Dallas. The name " Stephenville" is derived from the Caddo word stevens, meaning "a place whereon water flows." The history of Stephenville begins with its location on Buffalo Bayou. In 1836, two men named Hennessey and Price decided to settle down in what is now eastern Stephens County. They named their land Buffalo Bayou because they thought that it would be an ideal location for cattle ranching given the many creeks that flowed through the area. The early settlers didn't have much success with their ranching ventures due to difficulties finding water supplies close by. However, they did find success when they started selling goods made from local cottonwoods which were used for fuel for their cattle drives into central Texas. This business venture led to another successful endeavor - trading goods with Native Americans living along the Trinity River. As time went on, these traders realized that trade with those Indians could only go so far because of our country's lack of railways at that time! So instead of traveling long distances downriver each week to meet up with their Indian counterparts (which took weeks), these traders opted to build roads betweenStephenville and Abilene so that they could get products quickly and easily! One such road was calledthe Houston Road which connected Stephens County with Houston during this time period! This road allowed goods traveled by wagonloads overland from east Texas allthe wayto Galveston Island! What resulted was an increase in commerce within our region as well as increased interactions between different cultures! With this new connection came new opportunities for education as well - both white schoolchildren who were attending school inHoustonand Native American children who were learning how to read and write atlanticanskind languages! Needless to say, this exposure not only improved literacy rates among these groups but also opened up new opportunities for economic development within our region! In 1865," Stinellite"was born when one man named John Stinellitxset out onto Buffalo Bayou searchingfor a place he could call his own; he found what he was looking for downstream at White Settlement Site #2 near present day San Antonio/Bryan TX borderline (just south of Beltre Springs). From here he set out building homespun shops & restaurants catering mainlyto Eastern Texans across Buffalo Bayou & Trinity River areas westof San Antonio ...... eventually becoming owner/operatorof numerous businesses including: banks (J S Banking Co.; First National Bank; Republic National Bank) mercantile stores (& J B Owens Antiques Incorporated), livery stables ('Swingin' Joe's Livery stable'), movie theaters ('Comancheros', 'Crazy Horse Theater'), etc.- ....... dying suddenly suddenly just priorto opening his namesake restaurant overlookingBuffaloBayou&TexasRiver onMarch24th1974.(age 78yrs old)
