Scope mounts are a type of mount that allows the shooter to adjust the elevation of their rifle while in range. A variety of different types and sizes are available, with most being designed for rifles with a certain weight or size. The earliest Scope Mounts were designed to use threaded rods as they were relatively easy to attach and remove. However, over time, some manufacturers have introduced Eye- relief Scopes which feature superior optics and require no modifications to the rifle. Today, Scope Mounts are used by shooters all over the world for various reasons including hunting, target shooting, competition, personal defense and even surveillance applications. The most common types of scope mounts are those for Weaver optics, which work with standard AR-15 rifles. Other types include M4/M16 style scopes and scoped bolt action rifles. Scope mount systems vary depending on the purpose for which they will be used: hunting, target shooting, or warfare. Hunter-style scopes typically use dovetail joints between the mount and receiver so that various adjustments can be made without removing the scope from the rifle; while warfighterstyle scopes often rely on mechanical adjustability (including turrets) to provide quick changes in magnification when needed. For both applications there are three main types of mounts: windage/ elevation (WEAVER), aperture (ADVANCE), or recoil lug (RECOIL). In general, windage/ elevation mounts allow adjustment up or down at least 1 MOA while aperture and recoil lug mounts offer adjustable magnification ratios up to 14x1x14mm at 100 yards out with no windage limit at all; however, these systems may also have other limits such as barrel length limitations and birdseye bombing range restrictions. These mounting options are available in single-, double-, triple-, quad-pivot versions as well as MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail anchors for attaching accessories like bipods or lightening collars. In Stafford, Texas, in 1881, a group of entrepreneurs started the first grocery store in the town. The store was called the Mercantile and it lasted for about 10 years. In 1902, the business was renamed the Citizens Grocery and it continued to be run by the same people until 1925. In that year, they bought out their competitor and moved to what is now known as downtown Stafford. They were part of a larger grocery chain that grew throughout Texas until it merged with Kroger in 1978.
Stafford, Texas is located in the U.S. state of Texas and is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan area. As of 2010, it had a population of 126,392. The town was founded in 1881 by Charles Stafford and his family as a small farming community on the banks of the Trinity River. The original expandable scope mounts were developed for use with rifles that had a Weaver-style rail system. The mount was designed to allow the addition of an additional 3 inches of magnification, which was then used to improve tactical shooting. These mounts could also be attached to other firearm platforms, such as shotguns, pistols and even rifles.
St. John's Episcopal Church, Stafford It was in 1836 that St. John's Episcopal Church, now known as the Stafford United Methodist Church, was founded in what is today Stafford County, Texas. The first pastor of the church was Rev. James Meeks and it served as a meeting place for local farmers and ranchers until 1857 when the church moved to its present location on Main Street in town. The parish continued to grow and by 1863 there were over 100 members living at the church. Reverend James Hickey became the first pastor of St. John's after being called from his previous position at First Baptist Church in Dallas. In 1886, during Reconstruction days following the American Civil War, Rev. Hickey built a new addition to the old church which still stands today as one of Stafford’s most important landmarks exhibiting 19th century Gothic Revival architecture with its Romanesque Revival-style spire completed in 1886-87 by noted British builder Alfred Waterhouse (1838-1915). Today, services are held inside the original building on Saturday mornings from 9:00am until 10:00am while special events are held throughout the year including friendly Burns Night services on November 5th each year!
The town of Stafford was founded in 1814 by Nicholas Stafford, a Scottishman and his wife Jane. The first store opened in 1815. The town grew rapidly, and by 1830 it had a population of 1,600. In 1836 the Texas Rangers began their punitive campaign against the Comanche Indians, and as a result, the town's population decreased significantly. By 1840 the population had shrunk to 100 people. In 1870 the Treaty of Paris ceded Oklahoma to Mexico, and as a result, Stafford became part of Mexican territory known as Chihuahua. In 1912 Mexican President Porfirio Díaz sent United States forces into Chihuahua to suppress resistance to his rule; consequently, many English-speaking residents fled to Stafford in search of safety. The town's population increased again during World War II due to president Franklin D Roosevelt's New Deal programs which helped spur economic development within the area. However, following the war Stafford experienced significant decreases in its population due tothe post-war recession and migration from Chihuahua back into Mexican territory. It reached its current size with over 10 thousand residents during 2006 Census figures Today there are small businesses located throughout the community that help support its growth while still maintaining strong ties with its historic past
