In 2009, Northpark annexed Rice Village which had previously seceded from SouthLake Township; Rice Village lies just east of Interstate 35W on SC 191 between US 287 and I-635E and borders both cities on their north side whileSouthLakeTownship boundaries are defined by sections of SC 191 between US 287 & Loop 281N (theLoop being an exit ramp off Loop 281). Today much of Arlington County including downtown Dallas spans across Interstate 635E within easy driving distance of every major shopping center in town without ever leaving Interstate 35W or TX 290. There are currently no plans for Arlington County to annex more than one municipality at a time so there will always be some degree of separation between south Arlington county suburbs like Crystal City and central Arlington (presently Silver Spring), Rosslyn and Friendship Heights etc., although this distance may slowly start to shrink over time as services become available closer together likeatariParks had planned when they first annexed Crystal City but were later blocked by D.C.). Accordingly despite being smaller geographically speaking than most American cities home prices here still vary widely depending on proximity to schools or other amenities not just proximity to downtown but also surrounding neighborhoods such as Garland Hills, Lakeside Villages & Cedar Ridge Estates all located very close indeed!

Southlake is located on a small strip of land between I-635 and Interstate 10, bordered by Arlington to the north and west and Mesquite to the east. It began as an agricultural town named after John Southlake, a settler who founded what is now Arlington in 1836. The name change may be due to its location on highway 10 which passed through the town - it being close to Cottonwood Creek. The first post office in Southlake was established on December 12, 1876. That year, Douglas MacArthur served as Postmaster General of Texas during Reconstruction. In 1889, J.D. Salinger married Edna heiress Alice Adams here at her home known as "The Gables." After his death in 1951 she sold it to real estate developer Harry Hays for $1 million dollars making it one of America's largest single donations of money to charity ever made up until then.) In 1925 Clyde Rice became president of Sam Rayburn School District No 8 when that district merged into Dallas Independent School District (later Irving ISD). He later served as Superintendent of Schools for Dallas County from 1962-1967 and again from 1971-1977 before retiring at 75 years old in 1977 having led DICOMUSD to become one of North Texas' most successful school districts with over $1 billion dollar budget since its establishment in 1965!
