In 1911, an American gunmaker named John Browning developed what would become known as the Browning Hi-Power airgun. This firearm was designed to use high-capacity magazines which allowed users to shoot multiple rounds at once with ease. It was also one of the first airguns to be made with a telescoping stock for easier handling. The success of this product led to other manufacturers developing similar products over time, making airguns one of America’s most popular arms.

Airguns remained popular until the late 1800s when they were replaced by artillery weapons such as cannons and mortars.

The area that makes up Southlake was first populated by Native Americans. The town was founded in 1881 by Wm. J. Hite and Jesse Ladd as a farmstead near what is now Interstate 35E. By 1920, Southlake had become an important farming center with markets for local produce and goods from out of state. In 1930, Southlake became the site of the first air raid shelter in Texas when bomber planes bombed the city of Dallas on March 18th during World War II. Southlake experienced some growth in the 1970s as disco music emerged as a popular genre in Austin and Dallas. Some residents moved to Southlake because they found work opportunities available there while others were attracted to its close proximity to both cities. As more people moved into Southlake, schools began opening up and becoming more specialized such as chemical engineering school which opened up in 1985 after being closed for many years due to lack of students! Today, Southlake remains a sleepy little town with plenty of history but also plenty of opportunity for growth!

Southlake, Texas is a city in Dallas County, Texas, United States. The population was 996 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area. Southlake is located on the Trinity River and is bordered by Arlington to the north and west, Mesquite to the east and south, Carrollton to the southeast, and Plano to the southwest. The settlement of Southlake began as a cattle ranch called Jack's Ranch in 1876. The first store opened in 1879 in what is now Jack's Place on Old Hickory Boulevard. In 1881, James Fenton established a cotton gin near today's intersection of I-635 and FM 1960. By 1907 there were ten businesses in town with a total payroll of $10,000. By 1910 there were twenty businesses with a payroll of $50,000; by 1920 there were thirty-six businesses with a payroll of $100,000. A post office was established at Southlake in 1902; it was discontinued operations in 1969 but remains listed on the National Register of Historic Places as South Lakes Cotton Gin Post Office Building #2). In 1916 local developer Harry Chandler founded Chandler Homes estates which are still extant within present day Southlake boundaries (eastern edge - US 290 & Loop 410), although never lived within its original borders (west edge - current US 635 & SH 121). In 1954 meetings were held at North Central Baptist Church across from Ellington Air Force Base about creating an all-black school for children living nearby desegregation efforts had been unsuccessful until then African American parents who could not afford private schools formed their own group known as "Lakeside Schools". At first they shared facilities with white friends – including one home where John Lennon played during his early childhood years – before eventually moving into their own building Watts Elementary School which overlooks Interstate 10 just south of downtown Dallas (north side - current Houston Street between Elm Street/US 290W & Main Street/I-10E) In 1957 when Obama Sr.'s family moved from Hawaii he attended one such school function while attending Occidental College adjacent MacArthur High School since both campuses were integrated that year under then LBJ presidency making him eligible for free tuition due to his father being affiliated with NAACP leadership
Southlake is a city in Kaufman County, Texas, United States. The population was 362 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1872 by Presbyterian missionaries as a mission station on Angelina Creek. In 1886, Southlake became an independent municipality with a post office and school district. In 1907, it merged with Arlington to form the Arlington–Southlake Combined Statistical Area. The city's name originated from its location on Angelina Creek, adjacent to what is now downtown Dallas. In 1948, Southlake became an all-white integrated community when it forbidden whites from living within its limits for fear that they would create social unrestrained by black residents. Despite this restriction, integration continued through the 1960s and 1970s as African Americans began moving into the area around Southlake andDallas suburbs such as Flower Mound and Lewisville; this migration increased after white flight from cities during the early 21st century suburban exodus known as "the Great Urban Migration." On November 3rd, 1990 Southlake officials announced that they were considering annexing Flower Mound due to concerns about possible competition for job growth between both communities; however no annexation proposal was ever made official as Flower Mound's mayor vetoed any annexation ordinance which would have put Southlake within City Limits of their larger neighbor The city of Dallas annexed South Lakeview Heights in 2013
