The Seagoville community started in 1887 when two men, James and John Seagoville, purchased land in what is now the town ofSeagoville. The Seagovilles built a log cabin on their property and started farming. In 1902, they hired a man named Chilton to help with the farm work. By 1912, the Seagovilles had four cows and twelve pigs. The next year, they bought a tractor from Chilton and began to farmers their land. By 1928, the Seagovilles had six cows and sixteen pigs. In 1934, they added another cow to the herd and continued to farm until 1949 when they sold their land to make way for Interstate 10.
