It is part of the Amarillo– Texarkana, TX Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Seagoville" comes from Spanish and means "shore point." A post office called Seagoville was established in 1881, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1959. In 1907, the Seagoville Volunteer Fire Department was formed. The department has served the community ever since. In 1954, education became an important facet of life for the residents of Seagoville when Dr. J.B. White opened his first school on a parcel of land donated by Mr. Ernest Clements Jr.. Today, there are four schools within the confines of Seagoville: one elementary school (grades K-8), one middle school (9-12), one high school (13-16), and one adult academy (18+). The economy for Seagoville benefits greatly from its location near major highways and airports both inside and outside the city limits! Airlines such as Southwest Airlines have a major hub at Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport which provides easy access to all types of passengers with little or no wait times! Additionally, Interstate 10 forms a border between Amarillo to the north and Lubbock to the south; this allows drivers entering Amarillo to easily get into Lubbock without having to go through city limits! Other industries that have found success in nearby towns include agriculture (farming is an important sector here), manufacturing (manufacturing jobs account for over 50% of employment here), construction/maintenance services, software engineering & development jobs - making this an ideal place to work if you're looking for some stability as well as some great compensation packages!

Seagoville, Texas is a small town located in Monterey County, Texas. The population was 3,895 at the 2000 census. It is part of the San Antonio-New Braunfels-Amherst Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community was founded by Irish Catholics in 1881 as a small farming village on the east bank of the Trinity River. The name Seagoville comes from an old Gaelic word meaning "shore." In 1898, ownership of the Village passed to the Sisters of Charity who renamed it Seagoville after their home town in Ireland. The first post office opened in 1901 and was called Punta Gorda until 1906 when it changed its name to Seagoville. The first store was built in 1907 and is still open today as Stop & Shop. A branch of Sam’s Club opened in 1959 and continues to be operation today. In 1961, Seagoville established itself as an agricultural center with land sales for cattle and pigs beginning in 1951 and continuing through 1974 when all sales were discontinued due to drought conditions that hit the area hard that year. By 1976, there were over 100 businesses operating out of Seagoville with a total population of 4,500 people including 1,200 farmers who grew corn, beans, wheat and other crops on government-owned land which they sold back to the government at below market prices during this time period; also many artisanal products such as cheese were produced here especially during this time frame thanks to efforts by local ranchers/farmers group known as “The Gritters” (nicknamed because they had no power or access to indoor plumbing).

The town grew rapidly after it became an important trading post on the Red River. In 1887, Seagoville was renamed Dallas and its population increased to 10,000 people.
