Because of this location change, EMS has been able to provide dispatching services for both local hospitals as well as other larger medical emergencies within minutes' radius including downtown Austin and San Antonio TX without having to drive all the way out to rural Cameron County In addition to their primary EMS response function, both stations have additional capabilities such as water suppression (station #1 has a 3 acre pond that can be used for training purposes), hazardous materials response (station#2 has a 4-acre hazmat response area) & even hostage negotiation/rescue (station #1 can provide cover while negotiators negotiate with hostages). In addition to their secondary responsibilities they also offer law enforcement functions through volunteer officers who respond both during normal hours and afterhours when necessary or requested by law enforcement officials The Village ofSeagoville annexed portions of unincorporated Johnson County on March 1st, 2009 making it an official incorporated village with its own school system, library system & police department which also provides mutual aid agreements with neighboring counties .
