The Seagoville gun barrel company was founded in 1881 by J.F. Seagoville and P.D. Hagan. The company manufactured guns and pistols for the Confederate army during the American Civil War. In 1865, the Seagoville Manufacturing Company moved to Seagoville, Texas, and continued production of firearms until 1901.

Seagoville is a small town in the panhandle of Texas located on the banks of the Trinity River. It was named after Gen. James K. During the late 1800s and early 1900s, agriculture became an important part of Seagoville’s economy with subsistence farming being their mainstay until repeal of Prohibition in 1920 changed all that. After prohibition, many farmers turned to manufacturing which continues through today although grocery shopping is no longer an major artery for commerce here. In recent years, much has changed within Seagoville itself with new waves of residents moving into this aging community so eager for access to excellent public schools and easy access to Interstate 10 just outside its boundaries - making this once sleepy corner of rural Panhandle one of the most vibrant places you'll find in Texas!
