In 1839, they married Margaret Hance and started a family. The Post's son, James A. Post, became one of the most successful farmers in the region. He was also a member of the Texas State Legislature from 1901 to 1907 and served as Speaker from 1904 to 1905. Other notable residents in Seagoville include banker J.B.
