Schertz is a small town in Bell County, Texas, United States. The population was 7,451 at the 2010 census. It is the only incorporated municipality in Bell County and it is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Schertz's ZIP code is 75158. The first settlers in what would become Schertz were French Canadian miners who began to arrive in 1846. By 1870, Schertz had a population of around 100 people and a hotel which served as the community's cultural center. In 1881, Schertz became an independent village when justices of peace were elected by property owners rather than through electioneering process. In 1906, Schertz annexed the unincorporated community of Highland Park and became its own municipality with a population of around 150 people. A new courthouse was built in 1907 and named for Judge John Laughlin who had been instrumental in helping develop Schertz into an agricultural town. As postwar suburban development increased demand for housing within walking distance of businesses and services, Schertz responded by annexing neighboring communities such as New Braunfels (later Springtown) in 1959 and Grapevine (later Grapevine Hills) in 1966. Today all but one of those municipalities are defunct - New Braunfels was merged into Grapevine Hills while Grapevine Hills fell victim to annexation by Denton on December 1, 1996 - leaving Schertz as the sole incorporated municipality in Bell County with a population over 7,000 residents. economic growth during the late 1990s led to more job openings within close proximity to homes so that residents could easily access necessary amenities such as grocery stores and parks; however this has now turned into congestion because so many people are moving into downtown since then without bothering to move out their cars or build parking garages/driveways! The city’s current zoning has not accommodated this continued growth mechanism that creates extreme traffic congestion each day on Interstate 20 just outside downtown; motorists must exit I-20 at mile marker 287 where they can either continue driving down I-20 eastbound or drive back up I-20 westbound which results in long lineups both before and after business hours! This situation cannot continue much longer because there simply isn’t enough land available for more development without detrimentally impacting public safety or negatively affecting local businesses!

One such artist who has had a significant impact on this music is Leroy Alexander who sang for many years at Saginaw Baptist Church before moving on to larger venues across America including Carnegie Hall and Madison Square Garden among others. Other well-known performers who have appeared in or toured through Schertz include country singer Ronnie Milsap; blues guitarist Eddie Floyd; jazz pianist Joe Bonamassa; metalhead metal band Lacuna Coil; as well as local poets like D’Anna Wintour and Toni Morrison.
