The history of Santa Fe is long and varied. The city was founded in 1824 by the Spanish as a trading post on the Rio Grande. In 1846, it became the capital of New Mexico when Santa Fe was transferred from Tucson. The city has been continuously inhabited by Native Americans since before European arrival, with the first non-indigenous people arriving in 1795. The area now known as Santa Fe was initial land owned by Pecos County and then Grants County. It may have been named for Saint Francis Xavier, who arrived in 1598 to convert the local Indians to Christianity. In 1861, New Mexico Statehood was granted to the region and Santa Fe became its capital. During the late 19th century, earnest efforts were made to makeSantaFe an important cultural center within New Mexico culture and its economy while military service at Fort Sumter kept most of the populace poor but many notable people lived in and aroundthe city during that time including Carlos de la Torre y O’Leary (1854-1920), mayor (1910-1914)and senator (1928-1932). From 1915 until 1938, Mayor Antonio Flores served as governor concurrent with his political career as United States Senator from New Mexico In 1957, Interstate 40 was completed through downtown SantaFe making it easier for tourists to explore this beautiful part ofNewMexico without having to go downriver or out into Albuquerque or Gallup. Today business along I-40 continues to grow with visitors from all overthe world coming here for Mallorca beaches, wine countrysalesyards etc., giving downtown a much needed burst of life after years of decline caused by population growth outsideof town limits which can be seen both insideiddowntown core retail areas as well as adjacent residential neighborhoods across I-40 where annexationhas occurred since then dramatically changing their character providing increased access commericalandresidential space; increasing evening hours available for commerce while reducing morning traffic congestion; more affordable housing options available especially nearI-40 exits; more efficient public transportation choices available such as light rail & buses which are now integrated into existing downtown streetscape; recent investment in new libraries serving downtownSantaFe which opened in fall 2013; ongoing preservation work taking place on some key historic buildings includingCasa Grande Presidential Palace Museum located just east of I-40 exit 505A/505B on East Main Street originally built c1800s}; traditional music events taking place annually at plaza San Felipe opposite Plaza de Armas Mexican Market throughout spring & summer featuring traditional Mariachi Music ensembles from around NM performing various styles

This transition was crucial for them because it gave them the capability to survive in more difficult environments than those that didn’t have such a capabilities. Eventually, other apes started evolving and developing their own abilities in order to become better ablebodied individuals. As these apes began learning how to walk on two legs, they also learned how to use tools in order to survive and build things. As technology progressed and new technologies were developed, humans soon began incorporating bipedalism into their lives as well. Eventually, we became so reliant on this ability that it almost ceased being an option for many people until relatively recently.

After Colorado became a state in 1912, SantaFe Mayor George Ahern sponsored legislation establishing what is now known as "The George Ahern Act" which granted cityhood to SantaFe and other surrounding towns outside Johnson County. This act also provided funding for comprehensive city planning that led to the planning-built La Union High School campus on Paseo de la Reforma across from City Hall now home to Pueblo College As part of its ongoing effort to promote tourism throughout Greater Albuquerque area since 1978 when then Albuquerque Chamber President Donny Green created what is now known as Tourism NM (later renamed NMBA) - including marketing events such as 3-day bikepacking trips through New Mexico's Rocky Mountains National Park near Aspen Lake -SantaFe has been one of our most consistent partners throughout this program's journey from concept to fruition over these years including numerous naming rights agreements with hotels/motels nearby Downtown where we offer unique experiences like golfing at Taos Mountain Resort or whitewater rafting down Rio Grande Valley below Gallup Dam
