Gun chokes have been a part of firearms for centuries. Shooting with a handgun can be dangerous, as the gun may not fire when the grip is closed. The first choke device was designed to fit pistols made in 1868 by Nicholas-Jacques Conte and Emile Chasseigne. In 1902, John Browning created his innovative “9mm Luger” pistol which featured a new type of barrel called an overhand chamber design. This barrel had an overhand groove in it which allowed gas to escape more easily while still allowing rounds to enter and fire correctly. As a result, this new type of choke became popular among shooters because it allowed for more efficient firing than other types of chokes. In 1938, Nazi Germany began production of its own firearms using foreign-manufactured components which included many handguns such as .30 caliber semiautomatic pistols and submachine guns. As part of their efforts to build these weapons domestically, Nazi Germany began development work on what would become known as the Kranz Gewehr (Glock Pistol). With this weapon, they were able to improve on previous designs by adding features such as manual safety (the first firearm ever equipped with this feature), magazine capacity up to ten rounds per magazine (later increased to thirteen rounds per magazine), adjustable sights (including green 5/8 inch integral rear sight dating back to 1915), and bayonet lug attachment points (later replaced by clip attachments). San Benito is a town located in the county of Hidalgo, Texas. The population was 1,829 at the 2010 census. In 1836, San Benito was founded by Father José de la Cruz and his wife, María Elena. It became a small post office with only six residents in 1839. By 1840, it hadpopulation of ten residents and by 1845 it had more than one hundred residents. The first postmaster was Don Francisco Rabal y Salinas. In 1851, San Benito changed its name to San Fernando de Atascosa because Spanish missionaries were working there that year. On March 10 of that year, an act of Congress gave the town its current name: San Fernando de Atascosa County seat. In 1861, the railroad arrived and started serving San Benito; this made the town a larger place with more people and businesses. The first school in SanBenito opened in1872; it was called "Esquadra del Niño Jesús". A new school built in 1907 served as the first high school for students in San Fernando County. The present high school building was built on land donated by Samuel Pemberton in 1925-28 and dedicated on October 15th 1928 under the name “Pasadena High School” after Pasadena’sthen Mayor José Huerta who also funded its construction
In 1847, San Benito County was created from land that had been donated by the Mexican government. The name of the county reflects its location on the San Antonio River. The county was named for Spanish General Santa Anna, who fought against Mexico in the Alamo War and later became president of Mexico.
