Bipedalism first developed in San Benito, Texas about seventy years ago. During that time, the region was inhabited by three different cultures: the Puebloan people, the Kiowa people, and the Apache people. Each culture had their own unique way of life which left their mark on the land. One of these cultures was bipedalism which evolved from this particular way of life. The Puebloan people were a Native American tribe who lived in San Benito County for over two hundred years. Their culture focused largely on hunting and fishing because they lacked domestication methods at that time. They also used dogs to help them search for food and water sources. As time passed, they began to learn how to Farm and cultivate crops however, they still relied heavily on hunting as their main source of income. The Kiowa people were another native American tribe who resided in San Benito County for about seventy years. They also used dogs to help them search for food and water sources however, they did not rely as much on bipedalism as the Puebloanpeople did. Instead, they used a system called “walking sticks” which allowed them to move around more easily than other natives due to their long legs and arms. This system helped them survive in mountainous areas where food could be hard to find or difficult to bring down with regular hunting trips. The Apache people were an indigenous group who lived in San Benito County for about fifty years before moving south into Arizona Territory sometime after 1848 when Mexico ceded that territory back to Spain under Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo (1846). The Apache Tribe worked extensively with Mexican settlers during this time period so there is no direct evidence indicating whether or notthey ever adopted bipedalism fully although it is possible given certain circumstances such as living near rivers which allowed for easy access to tools and animals

In 1836, San Benito was founded by José de la Vega and his wife, Margarita. The settlement was located on the banks of the Brazos River and became a small town with a population of around 100 people. In 1839, José de la Vega sold the town to fray Santiago Bernal y Arellano who renamed it San Antonio. However, in 1846, San Antonio was again renamed to San Benito after General Manuel Ávila Cavazos donated land for the community. In 1857, San Benito had a population of around 1,500 people and became an agricultural center with acreage holdings that totaled over 120 hectares (250 acres). In 1911-12,San Benito experienced its most significant change when it became part of the newly formed State of Texas. At this time, many Texans relocated to San Benito because of its fertile soil and access to water resources. As a result of this growth in population and economy,the school board decided in 1915 to construct a new high school which would become known as La Jolla High School.

When San Benito was founded in 1836, it was the largest settlement in Texas. Today, San Benito is a small town with a population of about 1,600 people. It has always been an agricultural community, and its economy has been based on agriculture and ranching. The town's first store was built in 1839. In 1916, the town incorporated and began to enjoy more independence from the County government. However, due to economic difficulties over the years, San Benito has experienced some decline in population and economic activity. The town's history began with Juan Jose Altis who settled here in 1836 as part of the Comanche War uprising against Mexican rule. When he died in battle three years later his brothers took up arms to continue his cause until they were killed by Mexican forces at Battle of Adobe Walls (1842). This event helped spur development within the area as settlers decided that this would be their new home because they had learned about Anglo-American warfare from American soldiers stationed here during the war. Over time other pioneers moved into San Benito including Don Fernando de la Vega y Cisneros who purchased land around 1857; Fray Antonio Guerrero who arrived in 1865; Manuel Gomez who arrived in 1870; Pedro Ortiz whose family bought land here circa 1888; Reynaldo Martinez who came overland from New Mexico circa 1898; Aurelio Cabrera y Gonzalez who landed August 6th 1903 aboard SS Californian;} These individuals all contributed to making San Benito one of America’s most important towns during its early days when Texan society was becoming increasingly Anglo-Saxonized after centuries of Spanish rule. In 1907 a school district was created which included parts of what is now south Havenwood Drive/Route 202A adjacent to Interstate 10} In 1916 SanBenito became a city through incorporation under state law.} After World War I ended there wasn't much growth inside or outside the city limits so annexation by neighboring Arenas County occurred for political reasons.} After annexation many businesses closed down since it no longer made financial sense for them to keep running out of space inside or outsideSanBenito.} In 1984 various ordinances were passed banning smoking indoors} Finally after several decades of struggles City Council resolved that Cigarette smoking must end at all public places within ten feet thereof effective January 1st 1988

In 1836, the first white man to set foot in San Benito County was Capt. James Hance. At the time, it was part of Mexican Texas. In 1846, General Antonio López de Santa Anna ordered all Mexicans out of Texas, and San Benito became a U.S. territory. The first post office in San Benito opened in 1851, and the first store was built in 1861 by Prentice Miner & Co., a general store that served as the county seat from 1861 to 1868. In 1907, there were only four families living here; however, by 1920 there were over 100 residents and three schools serving students from grades Kindergarten through 12th grade.
