The first binoculars were invented in 1795 by Nicholas-Jacques Conte. They were made from a round, heavy metal tube with a convex lens that fit into the front of a less expensive glass or plastic frame. The patent for this invention was filed on December 12, 1795. In 1824, American astronomer George Washington Krieger developed the world’s first telescope. He used a simple design consisting of two lenses placed at right angles to one another and focused through an adjustable eyepiece onto a stationary target. This instrument was very successful and allowed him to see objects much further away than he ever could using his naked eye. In 1872, Englishman John Herschel designed and built the world’s first true three-dimensional astronomical telescope, which he called the “Herschel Telescope.” This instrument could resolve details that would not have been possible with traditional telescopes of the time. It is said that he used it to view stars up to 100 miles away! In 1922, American astronomer Edwin Hubble discovered black holes and showed that they arethe most distant object in our universe! This discovery helped change our understanding of space and time completely! Today, binoculars are still being used extensively by amateur astronomers all over the world! The couple had two children: one born in 1883 and one born in 1885; both girls were baptized into the Catholic Church here until their families moved away when San Benito's first school opened its doors to students in 1901. Houston's death On January 5, 1891 caused great sadness among the people of San Benito as he had been such an important figure within this community for many years before that point - he was buried at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery alongside his wife Anna Maria (née Pemberton) Houston with full military honors including being announced "death Duly reported" by Drs John Hennigan & George Patton... San Benito, Texas was founded on November 3, 1846 by brothers José and Miguel López. The town site was located in what is now the city of Austin. By 1860, San Benito had become the largest town in Travis County with a population of 10,000. In 1876, San Benito was renamed for Spanish General Francisco Santa Anna after his surrender at Brownsville Heights. During World War II, San Benito played an important role as one of the few towns in TexasAcknowledging that most Texans were supportive of the war effort but few wanted their hometowns to become targets of bombing raids or Japanese troops invading their homes., many residents voluntarily provided food, fuel and supplies to Allied forces stationed in Texas during the war. In 1948, SanBenito's mayors formed a citizens' committee to petition for annexation into Austin because they felt they had been neglected by city officials After years of growth and development within its boundaries (most notably through annexations from various counties),San BenitO joined Austin as a municipality on January 1st 1994 when it passed an election ordinance establishing municipalhood status for all cities in Travis County without first obtaining annexation from any other county The city has since undergone numerous expansions and renovations including significant infrastructure improvements such as new water systems and extensions to its parks system . On July 21st 2017 Mayor Steve Adler announced plans for a $110 million bond issue that would support recreational opportunities including sports fields and community centers across the city
The first European to settle in San Benito County was Francisco de Anza, who explored the area in 1777. The first permanent settlers were Spanish Franciscans who arrived in 1821. In 1835, Mexican General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna founded the town of Austin on the Texas coast and designated it as the provisional capital of Alta California. Austin grew rapidly and by 1839 had a population of 10,000 people. The Mexican-American War (1846-1848) resulted in Mexico's loss of Alta California to America, and Austin became an American city. After the war, many Mexicans migrated to Austin and other Texan cities seeking opportunity and education.
