In 1889, an experimental military bullet was created called the “Tirpitz Bullet” after Admiral Alfred Tirpitz who served as Chief Minister of Germany during World War I (1914-18). The purpose of this bullet was to determine how best to fireshot warships on land using only sea shells instead of traditional rounds/bullets fired from firearms. After years of testing, the Tirpitz Bullet eventually proved its usefulness on land when it successfully hit a target several times with high precision despite being fired from a distance away! This innovation helped change Warfare forever and made bullets an essential component in many conflicts throughout history!

In 1836, San Angelo was founded by Major General Antonio L. Armijo, a Mexican American who had served in the Mexican War of Independence. The town was named for St. Anthony of Padua, a Spanish preacher who helped lead the Popes to conversion to Christianity and then fought against Islam in the Pueblo Revolt of 1810-1811. In 1873, San Angelo became an independent republic following the surrender of Texas to Mexico after the Mexican-American War. The Republic lasted until it was conquered by Mexico in 1898.
