Saginaw is a city in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, located in southeastern Texas. The population was 1,814 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Cass County. The first European settlers in what is now Saginaw were French colonists who arrived in 1795 and named it Nantes after their native town of Nantes, France. In 1836, when Texas became part of the United States, Saginaw was incorporated as a city. The first post office was established in 1837 and from 1839 to 1840, Saginaw had a cotton factor that exported bales of cotton to New Orleans. In 1861, during the American Civil War (the Mexican-American War), Confederate forces mined and burned Union posts near present-day downtown Saginaw while occupying northern Fort Worth County. On October 16 of that year, Union Brigadier General Gideon Welles ordered General James Mower's brigade to drive out Confederate forces from downtown Saginaw; however, this order did not arrive until after Confederate General Robert Ewell's brigade had already destroyed most of Welles' command east of Main Street. As a result of this engagement known as "The Burning Season," most civilians were killed or wounded within blocks of where they lived or worked; some estimates put the death toll at 25%. On November 10th 1863 Union troops under Lieutenant Colonel John Waddell attacked Confederate forts along Buffalo Bayous north and west of town on East Cameron Avenue (now Cameron Boulevard). After an intense firefight lasting several hours resulted in one man being killed and six captured including Waddell himself*, Mayor Henson surrendered without any shots being fired* on December 5th 1863 by order Major General Lorenzo Thomas.* Although all townsite buildings were destroyed both inside and outside by gunfire* (* See photo below), many citizens quickly rebuilt following this event nonetheless*. For over three decades thereafter† [* Note: This account probably exaggerates casualties since many people may have just been able to rebuild quickly given how devastating battle damage really was], no major combat took place within centralized City limits–save for two skirmishes with local bandits† [*Note 2*: These skirmishes occurred around 1915 when outlaws began attacking law enforcement officers]! Despite this lackactivity† [*Note 3*: There have even been claims suggesting that “Nantz” may be derived from an early spelling mistake made by one historian which actually meant “Newton”], Saginaw managed to keep up its reputation as an important commercial center for much of the 20th century† [*Note 4*: Most notably during World War II when large amounts Of ammunition imported through nearby Grand Gulf ended up stockpiling at various warehouses south/west of town…] However due largely to suburban growth throughout Cass County over recent decades** [*Note 5*: particularly since NAFTA came into effect], today’s central business district has only about half the population it once did† (*See map below*)! * First post office opened on March 26th 1830 ** Note: boosters attribute current downtown area's low population size to recent suburban growth

Saginaw, Texas is a small town located in theMidwestern United States. The population was 3,816 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wichita Falls, TX Metropolitan Statistical Area. Saginaw has a rich history dating back to 1824 when it was founded as an Indian trading post by French traders and fur trappers on the Canadian River. The post was renamed Saginaw in honor of General John Quincy Adams, who had served as American Minister to France during the Louisiana Purchase. In 1868, Saginaw became a county seat and remained so until 1907 when it seceded from Wichita Falls County and became its own municipality under the name of Saginaw Heights. The federally funded housing project known as Brownwood Village completed in 1958 brought new residents and business to Saginaw; however, heavy industry left the town after World War II and now retains only a few historic buildings including its courthouse which is still used for government proceedings today. The first European settlers arrived in what is now Saginaw in 1824 with French traders looking for land to trade with the Blackfoot Confederacy (the Cherokee Nation). At that time there were no towns within present-day Wichita Falls County because most of what is now Wichita Falls was purchased from Native Americans by Spanish colonists during Mexican rule as part of Rancho San Miguel de Allende along with other lands ceded later in that period such as Fort Worth (now Dallas) and Lubbock (now Midland). When Ulysses S. Grant was named President of Mexico on April 14, 1865—just weeks before American forces surrendered at Appomattox Court House—Saginowas included within his territory as part of Mexico City Department No. 9 extending from Texcoco northward into what are now Oklahoma and Arkansas settlements eastward into Texas including Nacogdoches County near where Nowata lies today due east of I-10 between Houston and Amarillo; this area would become Upson County following Mexican independence from Spain on November 15, 1917.) On October 16th 1870 an act to create Wichita Falls County failed passage in both houses of Congress but did receive royal assent on November 2nd 1870 becoming effective retroactive theretofore existing Caddo Parish & Lamar counties etcetera within present day Wichita Falls limits although many unincorporated areas lay within those boundaries e Sioux City Limits also inside present day Laguna Hills Limits which bordered onto Fayetteville Township just southwest of current downtown Wichita while much larger portions lying outside those limits currently form Altus Township west side Of Garland city Limits northwest corner Of Hillcrest City Limits northeast corner Of Richland HillsCity limits) During Reconstruction Kansas voted 8–0–1 not to recognize Confederate States Government having done so previously via acts passed by legislatures prior to war i believe it’s fair to say that poor whites/ citizens generally suffered more than poor black citizens do today since Reconstruction never provided any real benefits except joblessness/rural poverty while southern nonwhite aristocrats received large allocations OF public resources throughout entire country thus far without corresponding social or economic returns whereas northerners did benefit greatly thru open borders / easy access to cheap labor while rural blacks& whites languished amidst growing redlining & discrimination leading eventually up civil rights movement culminating with landmark Supreme Court case Brown vs Boardwalk - decision which protected African Americans from Jim Crow segregation)) Today Loretta Lynch – former UPN “Queen Bee” executive US Attorney for National Districts Office headquartered nearby in Tulsa also descended from white family whose patriarch owned 300 acres adjoining original town site near old power station Owning 1/4 acre main house siting atop hill surrounded by 10+ acres farmstead presently home To date none have ever been charged nor convicted related crime against property belongingto Loretta Lynch including 4 felony counts arising outof August 2016Property damage totaling $100K+ total) It should be noted that Post office operated successfully until 1907 even though county seat moved then too); however school district operates still today

In 1849, the city was incorporated and quickly became one of the most important in Texas. The city's prosperity continued through the years until it was destroyed by a fire in 1906.
