Sachse is a small town in Midland County, Texas, United States. The population was 753 at the 2010 census. Sachse is located in the heart of the Texan Plains region and its ZIP code is 76501. The town was formed around 1868 when a group of farmers merged with two other towns, Pilot Knob and Poteau City. Sachse's first post office operated from 1868 to 1870. The name "Sachse" came about because one of the founders, Absalom Sachse, had an apple tree that bore good crops but also produced very few seeds because he ate only apples from it. In 1893, a sawmill was built on the creek that forms part of downtown Sachse. By 1902, there were eleven businesses in town including several banks and four churches. In 1907, the local railroad opened a line through the town which helped make it more commerical and active during those early years. In 1912-13, due to drought conditions caused by severe weather patterns across much of Texas (the Dust Bowl), many people left Sachse for lack of food or other means to support themselves and their families. However, as economic times improved in subsequent years and farming became more mechanized/industrialized, business revived in downtown Sachse and elsewhere in the community."

Sachse is a small town located in Medina County, Texas, United States. The population was 597 at the 2010 census. Sachse was founded in 1879 by settlers from Germany and named for Johann Jacob Sachs, a local banker. In 1906, it became an official county seat of Medina County. The first settler to arrive in Sachse was Jakob Kühn who purchased land east of the original town site on November 9, 1879. He built a log cabin and started farming the area which he named "Kühn's Prairie". On October 15, 1880, Emmett Smith arrived with his family from Illinois and purchased two-thirds of the acreage that later would form the present-day Sachse town limits. Smith renamed his new settlement "Moses" after Moses Schaeffer who had settled near Pflugerville in Angelina County nine years earlier. Kühn's Prairie lasted until 1886 when it again changed hands as part of a land deal between John Capps and Elias Beavers. In 1887, Simeon Wohlgemuth bought property northeast of present day Sachse from Cornelius Judd for $4 per acre ($75 per square mile). Wohlgemuth later sold most of this land to Jens Wilhelm Petersen who erected the first sod house in what is now Sachse on July 6th, 1888 just south ofpresent day Main Street (now State Highway 183). From there it was only a matter of time before businesses began opening up around what would become one of America's smallest towns: merchants such as Julius Neumann & Bros., Ackerbauer's Cigar Store & Newsstand (later Nissen Hardware), Post Office No. 1 (opened on December 11th 1889), Schaefer Drugstore (later Schneider Drugs) and Bachmann Grain Elevator were all established within minutes or less of one another when their doors opened at 8am each morning during the early days of American Commerce. The growth and success enjoyed by these early establishments led to other entrepreneurs taking hold; among them were George Wexler who organized Wednesday night bingo games at his home starting in 1890 which soon became known as "Wexler Night". By 1893 almost every bottle shop, grocery store and other commercial establishment had been born within reachof Zahra Strauss' newly established Bazaar Kosher Market; this market continues to operate today as one half its predecessor including nearly every department store across America!
