The first settler in Sachse was John Sachse Sr., who arrived in 1853.John Sachse Jr., father of John Sr., would later settle here with his family and start a grocery store on Main Street in 1875. From here he sold goods to farmers throughout Johnson County until his death in 1922. His son John III continued the business until 1978 when it merged with Sam’s Club to form Quaker Oats Incorporated (QO). In 1990 QO dissolved into its constituent parts: Nabisco USA (Nabisco) and Sunoco Texaco (Sunoco). In 1935 Anna Mae Kapp founded her own clothing store, Kapp's Girls Clothing Store #1 which quickly became well-known within the local community for its unique designs and affordable prices.
