Sachse, Texas is an unincorporated community in Dallas County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,567 at the 2010 census. Sachse was named after General James S. Sachse who fought in the Mexican-American War and Ulysses S. Grant's Expedition against the Comanche Nation. Sachse is located on State Highway 356 about 12 miles north of downtown Dallas and 3 miles east of Interstate 35W exit 169. The first settlers in what is now Sachse were German immigrants who arrived during the 18th century. They made a small farm near present-day Smith Road and Kirchhoff Road, which they named "Hutchinson". A post office was established at Hutchinson in 1857, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1911. A tavern called "The Happy Hagger" was built by Methodist missionaries on property purchased from David Hutchins nearpresent-day Old Slaughter Road northeast of downtown Sachse around 1875. It served as a stop for travelers going to Fort Worth or other points southward on I-35W before reaching Dallas. In 1886, local businessmen Isaac Lutz and John Wertheimer pooled their money to build a dam across Buffalo Bayou that would provide water for their agricultural properties north of town; this became known as the Lutz Dam project. Sachse had its first school when Houston Independent School District #1 opened its doors in 1907 with 20 students taught by Mrs Gertrude Laddington from Achterberg Elementary School in neighboring Irvington Heights neighborhood (now part of North Richland Hills). A second school building burned down about ten years later but private donations allowed construction of a new Schuller High School campus on current day White Settlement Drive just east of Main Street (now East Green Lake Boulevard) just west of Interstate635E only 2 years after ISD #1 went out of business! Today’s school mascot is “the Hurricanes” due to this partnership! From 1922 until 1959 there were also two churches serving the community: First Baptist Church (#2), founded by Reverend George W., Sr., which remains active today and Second Baptist Church (#3), founded by Reverend J.B.. Fenton with assistance from Methodists United Order No 527 & 711 which merged into First Baptist Church #2 acqording to congregation request circa 1955; both churches remain active today & continue services using same facilities/staff as back then! Today’s economy largely revolves around healthcare services companies that have set up shop here over recent decades including Stryker Corporation (@StrykerCorpDallas), Myriad Genetics (@MyriadGeneticsTX),MedStar Health (@MedStarHouston) - all bringing jobs & investment directly to Sachse residents! Additionally, numerous IT companies are headquartered within walking distance or less such as Comcast @ComcastCableCity TX & Time Warner Cable @ TWC_Partnership TX - both major employers providing good paying jobs right here next door! In light of these growing industries, much progress has been made recently for Sachsenians within our community – including passage last year (in absentia) of House Bill 4998 RI – authored by Representative Garnet Coleman – which strengthens local economic development initiatives throughincentives for businesses that create jobs statewide[!!]!"

Sachse was a small town in southern Texas, located about 20 miles east of Austin. The post office at Sachse was established on November 3, 1879, and remained in operation until it closed on September 15, 1951. At the time of its closing, the local population numbered just over 100 residents. The first settler in Sachse was James A. Smith who arrived from Kentucky in 1876. Smith farmed and built a cabin near present-day Sachse before moving to what is now northwest Wichita County in 1881. In 1888, John Ladda purchased 2,000 acres (1 km²) of land northeast of Sachse from Nicholas Dean for $2 per acre ($50 total). In 1902, his son Julius Ladda donated another 1,000 acres (2 km²) to the town as well. A school opened at Sachse in 1903 by Reverend Charles Halsey and continued operations until it closed in 1954. In 1907–1908, Machinist's Mate Augustus Eagan operated a millinery shop at Achille Creek which became the nucleus of the community's economy after Bachman Bros., a shirt manufacturer nearby closed its doors due to advertising restrictions put into place by the US government during World War I. Sachse was founded in 1837 by John Sachse as a cattle ranch. In 1865, the town became a railroad junction after the Santa Fe Railway built a line from Austin to El Paso. The town's population grew rapidly during the early days of rail transportation and its incorporation as a city in 1907. In 1954, Sachse was merged into the larger city of McAllen.
