Sachse is a small town in Richards County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wichita Falls–based Mid-America City region. In 1857, Isaac Saylor founded a cotton gin and mill here on what is now Saylor Creek Road. In 1865, he also founded a school and church here. Afteraders such as Wm Hogg (1813-86), James Fenton (1850-1937), and Omer Crayton (1870-1960) mined coal near present day Sachse to power their homes and businesses until natural gas became available in the area around 1900. A post office was established at Sachse in 1888; it closed due to lack of mail service in those days. On March 2nd, 1907, Achille Mancini opened his Machinery Depot & Store on Main Street which still stands today as part of theachiand Mall Corporation district located just east of downtown Sachse off FM Highway 287 North about two miles north of US 287 Business Airport runway 5/23LW In 1916 Achille Mancini donated land for a high school that would eventually become Wichita Falls High School On July 10th 1913 there was an air show over Wichita Falls when Glenn Curtiss flying his "Pusher" made an emergency landing after engine trouble while en route from Dallas to Wichita Falls

Sachse, Texas is located in the U.S. state of Texas. It was founded in 1836 by Danish immigrants, and became a stop on the Santa Fe Trail. The town was named for Johannes Sachse, who had been instrumental in its development. Sachse is a small community with a population of over 1,000 people today. The first settlers to Sachse were refugees from Denmark who had fled religious persecution there during the 1830s and 1840s. They arrived in 1836 and built an adobe cabin on what is now Main Street. That year, they also hired John Denton as their first postmaster. The community grew rapidly due to its strategic location on the Santa Fe Trail and its access to water resources that made it an ideal place to raise crops and livestock. In 1849, local officials designated Sachse as the county seat of Reeves County; at that time, it was one of only two towns in TX without county government status. In 1870-71, Harris County was created from parts of TX including Reeves County; at this time, Sachse lost its status as the county seat because it no longer possessed any vital resources or infrastructure necessary for county operations such as roads or schools. Nevertheless, locals continued to refer to their town as "Sachse" until around 1950 when they began using "Amarillo" instead (although some still call themselves "Sachseians"). During World War II, Achille Lauro enlisted in the United States Army Air Forces at Sabine Pass Airport near Amarillo and flew combat missions against Japanese forces between 1942-1945; his plane wreckage still stands outside of Amarrillo today! In 1951-1952, Bacharach Chassin organized a successful drive for independence from TX’s then-governor Hugh Ladd – Achille Lauro eventually donated land within Machinist Park east of Amarrillo which became Sachse’s new downtown district). On July 16th 1957 local citizens successfully opposed annexation by neighboring Webb County - this event markstx's official incorporation into Amarillo! Since 2007-2008 local leaders have been working towards developing plans for developing Machinist Park into an open space recreational area/park that would include educational programming about Texan history & culture related topics along with hands-on science exhibits & demonstrations related thereto... Plans are currently underway for funding & support thru various private entities (& Texana Foundation) in order to make this dream become reality!

By 1960, Sachse had a population of over 5,000 people. The city was renamed Wichita Falls in 1984 and has since grown into one of the largest cities in Texas.
