After the war, many of the original members of the Rowlett Rifle and PistolCompany migrated to Texas where they founded new companies such as The Lone Star Gun Club. In 1924, two years after its founding, the company merged with another rifle and pistols company to become The Rowlett-Harrison Rifle and Pistol Company.
Rowlett is a small town in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The population was 5,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fort Worth–Arlington Metropolitan Statistical Area. The townsite that now makes up Rowlett was founded in 1881 when two families from Wichita Falls came to Fort Worth and bought land east of the CPR tracks. The original settlers were white Methodist Episcopalians, but by 1912 there were also African Americans living in Rowlett. The first post office in Rowlett opened on November 17, 1881, and remained open until it closed on December 17, 1896. In 1902 Johnnie Lee Battle set up a seed corn mill in what is now downtown Rowlett; Battle was the first white person to live in what became Rowlett. By 1908 there were five stores and several hundred residents. In 1914 an oil well was drilled near what is now downtown and production began later that year; by 1916 there were twelve businesses and one thousand residents. During World War I (1918-1921), as many as fifty people worked at a munitions plant run by Shell Oil Company near present day Interstate 35W and US 59; this plant produced munitions for America's war effort while Japanese nationals working at the plant fought alongside American troops during World War II (1939-1945).
