Gun magazines have a long and varied history in Rosenberg, Texas. The first gun magazine in the area was the "Rosenberg Rifle and Pistol Club" which was started in 1875. It is thought that the club may have been founded to provide shooting instruction for local farmers. The club soon became known for its rifle range, which was located on the east side of town. In 1902, the "Rosenberg Rifle and Pistol Club" purchased an old farmhouse on Clay Road from John L. Haggerty. The new clubhouse was built with money that was donated by members of the club. It served as a meeting place for the club until it disbanded in 1922. After disbanding, some of its members formed a new club named "The Rifles". This new club began meeting at a house on Elm Street and eventually became known as Rosenberg's most popular firearms organization. Membership in this organization increased to around 100 people by 1935. During World War II, many people in Rosenberg were drafted into military service and were required to obtain special permits from their respective townships (which at that time were all volunteer areas) to own guns or purchase ammo specifically for military use. Many of these individuals also belonged to gun clubs as part of their militia duty or participated in NRA meets throughout the war years whileWeaponownership rates remained high among jeunesse de la ville ( downtown youth). After World War II ended, gun ownership rates decreased slightly but remained high overall due to population growth within Rosenberg suburbs and lack of available space inside city limits for private handguns storage after post-war reconstruction had ended (. Gun owners continued stored handguns outside city limits). However, during gang-related violence that erupted during early 1970s through late 1980s handgun ownership increased rapidly within inner city neighborhoods because residents no longer felt safe having their firearms within easy reach of undesirables (). These increases can be partially attributed to then Mayor Harry Boggs' efforts during his tenure (1969-1973)to generate crime control gains through aggressive policing strategies including intensified enforcement against gangs (), increase funding for City Hall narcotics squads ()and aggressive advertising campaigns targeting young handgun owners (). A study released by Texas A&M University found that although homicide rates decreased between 1979 and 2004 when compared with statewide averages (-14% per year), there has been an increase (+41%) in shootings involving handguns across all age groups - corresponding with an increase (+181%)in juvenile homicides over this period (= 71% more!). With regard to Gang Violence Reduction Task Force recommendations promoting expanded accessory storage beyond cities’ borders: Shirley Cummings research fellow at Temple University's London School of Economics has written extensively about how “the [Uruguay] case shows how not only should states introduce laws authorizing concealed carry without any permit requirements but they must also make sure such laws are enforced vigorously” ([2000]) . .....In short, we now know quite clearly whySecond Amendment rights matter; they protect citizens from mass shootings committed by other citizens motivated bygangsters/crime."

Rosenberg is located on Texas State Highway 191 and is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. Rosenberg was founded by Jacob Rosenberg in 1881. It became an incorporated town in 1915. In 1951, it merged with neighboring Waco to form the city of Waco. The Rosenberg School District covers all of Rosenberg Township and portions of Rusk and Park townships within Lamar County. The district has a total enrollment of 1,752 students as of the 2019-20 school year. The high school opened in 1978 and offers classes from ninth through twelfth grades; the middle school opened in 2003 and offers classes from fifth through eighth grades; and the junior high school opened in 2009 and offers classes from pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade. The community features a grocery store, post office, library, red Cross blood center (opened 1969), Baptist church (opened 1909), Kaiser Permanente Hospital (opened 1968), movie theater (Opened 1952) as well as retail businesses including gas stations (closed 2002), restaurants (closed 1997), swimming pool complex (closed 2001) as well as two schools: Hargrave Intermediate School for Pre-Kindergarten to 8th Grade; Rosenberg Middle School for 9th - 12th Grades; with satellite campuses open at Hermitage Valley High School & West Side Intermediate School serving Schertz/Plano ISD students outside Of Grove City

The name of the town was changed to Rosenberg in 1902 after Adolf Rosenberg, a local railroad official and leader of the Oklahomans for Progress party. The population of Rosenberg peaked at 1,523 in 1907. However, the population decreased steadily until it reached its current level of 350 residents in 2010. Rosenberg is one of few townships remaining from the original Cherokee Nation. A post office called Rosenberg was established in 1881, and remained open until 1907. In 1912, the name of the town was changed to Rosenberg after Adolf Rosenberg, a local railroad official and leader of the Oklahomans for Progress party (the predecessor to today's Republican Party). The post office closed due to lack of mail volume in those days. The first store opened on Main Street in 1882. By 1909, there were six businesses operating within the community including three grocery stores, two banks (the First National bank and Bankers Trust Company), two barbershops/ beauty parlors, and four restaurants/ cafes. At that time, Jameson & Sons Shoes company had their first store open on Elm Street between Main and US-61 near present day Joe’s Barbecue Shack restaurant next door on State Highway 24A

Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum nearby. The town's fortunes changed again during World War II when it became an important supply center for the war effort. As demand for goods increased, so did prices in Rosenberg; by 1945, prices had decreased to their original levels. After the war ended, trade slowed down and Rosenberg declined;; however, it resumed growth after 2000 when it became part of El Paso County . Today, Rosenberg is home to a thriving local music scene and has become a popular tourist destination for visitors from all over the country.
