In 2000, Jerald Whetstone died at The Farm where he had been living with his wife Carolyn since 1998 after a long illness. His wife continued to operate The Ranch until her death in 2003; then she bequeathed it to their son Jarad Whetstone Jr., who continued running it until its sale in 2013 to Dick Dees III). Dick Dees III is now owner/operator of The Lodge located adjacent to The Farm which served as home base for operations during World War II when Roma was one of six towns within Fort Worth County that were designated Military Area #2 (MAA 2) .
