The last mayor was Jerry Muehlenkamp who served from 1984 to 1988; he was succeeded by his son John Muehlenkamp Jr., who held office until 2000. Roma is located at (29°48′14″N 98°42′59″W). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all land. As of the census of 2000, there were 2,912 people residing in the town: 1,895 households out of which 36% had children under age 18 living with them, 67% were married couples living together, 9% had a female householder with no husband present; and 22% were non-families. 20%of all households were made up of individuals and 7% had someone living alone who was 65 years old or older. The average household size was 2 per family; there were 1,952 families out of which 38% had three or more members and 24% consisted only of one member

So now, if you see something moving in your vehicle's headlights while wearing night vision goggles, it might be an indication that there are guns inside!
