The Rockwall Gun Barrel Museum was founded in 1979. The museum is located on 4th Street in the city of Rockwall, Texas and it is open to the public. One of the reasons why this gun barrel museum exists is because there are a number of old guns that still exist in the city and it is important to have them preserved. The museum has a collection dating back to 1881.
Rockwall is a small town in Hudspeth County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,419 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The first post office in Rockwall was established on November 16, 1876. The name of the town comes from a word meaning "rocky ground." In 1870, white settler J.H.Crawford built a log cabin on what is now known as Main Street in Rockwall and named it Crawfordville after himself and his brother-in-law James Crawford, also a white settler in Hudspeth County. In 1872, John Denton opened a store here and continued to do so until 1875 when he sold out to J.W. Roemer from Carthage near present day Bastrop (now Tomball). Roemer renamed the business "Rockwall" which stuck until 1895 when Heman Crouch bought the store and changed the name back to "Rockwall." From 1896 through 1903, Rockwall served as county seat for Hudspeth County; however, due to lack of interest by settlers in that position, it reverted back to Bastrop during that time frame. On July 15, 1907 an act was passed by the Texas Legislature establishing Bastrop as the new county seat for Hudspeth County following its merger with Travis County; however, because of secessionist tensions within Travis County over this issue (and other issues), Bastrop remained unofficially the county seat for much of 1907 before finally reverting back to Rockwall on January 1st of 1908 under original plans designed only for Bastrop's incorporation into Hudspeth Counties only - not for residents within both counties who desired either designation! As part of statehood negotiations between Texas and Mexico following their respective independence from Spain in 1898 (the year prior to Texas becoming an open territory), there were proposals floated throughout late 1899/early 1900 involving all or portions of Hudspeth and Williamson counties merge into newly created Galveston County if such sovereignty were granted thereby; however no action was taken on these proposals until after Texas successfully gained its statehood on December 12th 1900! Consequently upon Texan statehood going into effect on December 12th 1900 all former Mexican land grants within those counties became available unto Texans - including any donated lands within present day Rockwall & extraterritorial claims thereto! As a result thereof - many citizens of old Castle Hill Road & surrounding neighborhoods inside what is now downtown Rocky wall may have never even known they resided therein given their current location amidst annexation efforts ongoing today!! However even today some people living & working close enough Waite Road (& FM 539) likely did know where they lived...just not often mentioned :)

Rockwall is a small town located in Medina County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,552 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. The first settlers in what is now Rockwall were mountain men who prospected for oil and gas in the nearby San Pedro Mountains. Many of these early pioneers are buried at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Rockwall. In 1881, a group of Dutchmen from present-day Watertown, Kansas immigrated to Medina County and started a cattle ranch called Rancho del Rio Grande de la Frontera (Rancho Grande). This land would later become known as Rockwall. The first post office was established in 1885; it was named after Captain John A. Armstrong who had been killed during the Mexican War two years earlier. In 1907, rock wall native Cabeza de Vaca married Laura Hidalgo, daughter of José Gomez Hidalgo and María Eugenia Sánchez Pacheco. They resided on their farm until her death in 1964; she is buried at Mount Pleasant Cemetery with her husband and children. While living here they also raised five children: Francisco Javier (1910–1996), Cecilia Isabela (1912–2005), Adela Margarita (1915–2002), Manuel Antonio Jr./Manuel Antonio Rivera (1920–2009) and Carmen Lucia (1922–2006). Their son Manuel Antonio Jr./Manuel Antonio Rivera succeeded them as mayor of Rockwall from 1984 to 1990 following his father's term interruption due to a prior mayoral election campaign he had run against his father that year During World War II many residents served in the military or were drafted; one resident, Donal Duffy became an American citizen and joined the army on December 9th 1941 just days before Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor which began America's involvement in World War II In 1951 voters approved incorporation into Medina County under the name "Rockwall" There have been several changes to this community over time including annexation by Round Rock City resultant from a merger of two other towns within Medina County on November 3rd 1976; as well as fire wars between various groups/families which often resulted in injuries or even fatalities among those involved Today there are still some active businesses & services that keep this small town running such as antique store (& secondhand clothing store) along side popular local bars & restaurants
