Rockwall, Texas is a small town located in the Houston metropolitan area. The original settlement was near the current site of Rockwall and Aransas Pass. A post office was established in 1876, and by 1906, there were six businesses in Rockwall. In 1911, a school was opened in the town, and by 1922, the population had grown to fifty-two people. By 1939, there were seventy-four businesses in Rockwall; during World War II, the number grew to one hundred forty-eight. After the war ended, business activity slowed down until the late 1970s when growth resumed with the arrival of new residents and an influx of technology products. Today, Rockwall has a population of over five hundred sixty people and continues to serve as an important center for industry and commerce within the Houston metropolitan area. The town has multiple cultural attractions including its namesake rock wall (an impenetrable natural fortress), several golf courses catering to locals and visitors alike as well as a library which remains one of ROCKWALL’S most popular destinations for all ages!

Rockwall is a small town in southeastern Texas located about 20 miles northwest of the city of Corpus Christi. According to the 2010 census, the population was 1,898. The climate in Rockwall is humid subtropical with an average temperature of 86 degrees Fahrenheit (30 degrees Celsius). The community was founded by Texans who came from what is now New Mexico during the American Civil War. They named their new settlement after General Sam Houston's victory at San Jacinto over Mexican forces on April 6, 1836. The original 10 families that settled in Rockwall numbered only 78 people total at its founding. The first school in Rockwall was built in 1867 and operated as a white school until it became black in 1935 when it became integrated into the local school district. In 1915, a grocery store and post office were opened along US-163 which later became known as FM 19609 and still operates today as a vital part of the community's economy. A rock wall has been used to fence off land near town since around 1800 AD by Native Americans for protection from animals and Indians raiding their settlements. By 1907, construction began on what is now known as Slaughterhouse Hill Park which included a playground, tennis courts, gymnasium and water park among other features. The park closed due to budget cuts within three years but reopened in 1970 following approval from then-Mayor Wes Bellamy Jr.. A $2 million renovation project completed in 2007 includes addition of an all weather basketball court, soccer field and new clubhouse for the community’s many youth organizations including baseball and softball teams as well as Girl Scout Troops number 814 Troop #1; Boys Town Scouts troop 992 Troop #1; Lone Star Chapter 559 United Methodist Church group home unit 601
