The community name derived from a local creek which ran through it. As of the census of 2000, there were 712 people residing in Robstowntownships: 499 men and 291 women; an average household size was 2½ children; and no families resided outside of Robstown proper (the hamlet within the township boundaries). As of 2007-2008 there had been an increase over 500 residents moving into or relocating into Robstown since 2001 as homes prices continued to rise throughout that decade across much rural Texas following two decades during which they fell precipitously as oil production declined along with job opportunities across many industries including engineering and construction jobs typical throughout most large Upscale cities during this time period while job postings for those same positions increased only marginally nationwide leading some observers to dub this phenomenon "suburbanization".
