In 1967, Shooter Earplug Corporation merged with Philips Electronics NV to become Philips/ShooterEarPlug NV (PHILIPS). After Phillips/ShooterEarPlug became part of Philips Electronic Industries NV (PEIN), it continued producing various types of deafening devices including shotgun shells and pistols (the last device being made in 1984) until 1997 when it was sold to OmniMicroelectronics ASA (OMI) for $410 million. From then on until 2003, OmniMicroelectronics operated as the exclusive licensee for all rights related to Shooter Earplug's history and product line until it was sold back to PHILIPS plc on January 1st, 2004 AGM 2104/1 effective January 1st 2004 under the new name "Philips Hearing Protection" There are numerous different derivations of 'shooter ears' - some from 1885 A Dictionary Of Music And Musicians; others dating back even earlier! One theory is that someone who likes playing music loudly might put these gadgets over their ears so they could still hear what is being played without having their eardrums damaged or offended by other sounds...or simply because they found them very comfortable! There have been countless innovations along the way too - nowadays we wear phone cases that fit around our ears - similar but not exactly same as those used 50 years ago!

Robstown is a town in Hudspeth County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,381 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The first Robstown post office opened in 1881. The name derived from a ranch on the east side of the Trinity River that was named for Rangers James and John Robison. In 1907, the town became part of Hudspeth County. In 1948, Robstown incorporated as a city under the terms of an act passed by the Texas Legislature. The city had been proposed by local farmers who wanted to avoid being annexed into Austin or Houston. The city has experienced growth over time: it grew from 1,500 residents in 1960 to 3,000 residents in 2000 and 5,000 residents in 2008 before topping 6,000 for the first time in 2009. The downtown district has seen significant development since its inception with several high-end restaurants and hotels opening up along with new housing developments including an apartment complex and mixed-use project known as "the Tanglewood."
The town of Robstown was founded in 1887 by John H. Robison and his family. The first store in the town was operated by Mr. Robison and his wife, Mrs. Hilda Goolsby, until 1923 when it was taken over by the Storey's department store chain. In 1951, the town was renamed to honor Pte. James Ewing who died in World War II during the Korean War. In 1962, a new high school building was completed and named after Dr. Everett Bogue who served as president of Baylor University from 1957-1963 and also played an important role in helping to move Baylor from its original location on Sam Houston Parkway to its current location on Main Street near downtown Robstown.
Robstown is a city in Collin County, Texas, United States. The population was 9,871 at the 2010 census. It is the second-youngest city in Texas and the youngest city of any size in Collin County. The city of Robstown is located on a small lake that forms part of the Trinity River watershed. The river flows through Robstown and other nearby towns before its mouth opens into Lake Travis near Austin. In 1795, General Sam Houston set up a post here to help protect his land from Spanish colonists. In 1836, John Sitton founded Sitton & Sons Lumber Company which built mills and churches in present-day Robstown and other surrounding towns. In 1902, Wm Latham bought out Sitton's shares and continued running the company until it merged with McLennan Brothers Steel Plant in 1907. This made Robstown one of only a few steel plants statewide at that time. In 1916, A&P grocery store opened its doors in town; this was followed by First National Bank (now JPMorgan Chase) five years later and finally Kress Electric Cooperative three years after that. Today's biggest employer within town limits is Armstrong World Industries who manufactures office equipment including computers, printers and scanners as well as medical supplies such as Band-Aids and dental products
