Grant as part of the Union victory at Smith's Grove that day. On January 12, 1865, during the American Civil War, Confederate Major General Jubal Early arrived in Robstown with several hundred cavalrymen to attack Union forces stationed there on suspicion that they were aiding an upcoming raid by Early's force against Sherman's Atlanta army encampment known as Missionary Ridge. A skirmish ensued and early morning discovery of friendly fire caused many casualties for both sides before finally withdrawing without any damage done to either side Aftermath of battle: Seventy-eight soldiers killed/dead; seventy-four wounded; four missing

In 1951-1952, after construction began on Interstate 10 through central Texas (a move that ultimately helped drive away most retail development from central Texas), robstown experienced some population fluctuations due to migration out of the area during this time period; however, overall economic stability has gradually maintained over the years despite occasional upsets caused by external events or national trends outside our control
