Beal and his son, Samuel, ran the business until 1865, when they sold it to C.W. Goodrich and Sons who ran it until 1899. In 1892, Wm Hite & Son established a gunnery school in Robstown which later evolved into The Texas A&M University Gunnery School (now Texas A&M University-Commerce). From 1898 to 1902, The National Rifle Association (NRA) had an office in town which played an important role in ammunition sales and training throughout the state of Texas. In 1903, The NRA opened its own ammo store located at 301 Main Street where it still operates today. Ammunition sales peaked during World War I with over 1 million rounds sold; however, since then there has been steady decline due to changing technology and competition from other industries. Robstown is a small town in Johnson County, Texas, United States. The population was 693 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Amarillo, TX Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded about 1830 by John Roberson and his family. In 1851 it became part of the new county of Johnson County. In 1896, the townsite of Robstown was ceded to the city of Amarillo by a vote of its citizens. Amarillo annexed Robstown in 1907 and made it its own city. In 1920, the town had an estimated population of 500 people; it had grown to 1,000 by 1990. In 2002, Amarillo annexed another small town in Johnson County - Rover Valley - making Robstown now one municipality with six municipalities within its boundaries (Amarillo, Calleriwood Village, Eagleville Village, Garden Hills Village, and Rover Valley). The total population within these six municipalities is 10,713 people (7% of the Total Robstown Population). Robstown has three churches: First Baptist Church (founded in 1851), Methodist Episcopal Church (1896), and Catholic Parish (1907). There are also two schools: Pleasant View Elementary School and Our Lady Of Guadalupe High School.

It is part of the Richardson–Ft Worth micropolitan area. The town was founded in 1881 by John Robison and his family as a crossroads on High Plains Road. In 1903, it became one of thirty towns incorporated within Richardson County. The first post office in Robstown was established in 1907. In 1923, high school students from nearby Arlington Heights formed their own school district and changed their name to Richardson-Robstown Schools District #1; this district served all of Richardson and portions of Dallas counties until the merger with Garland-Dallas ISD in 2002. A new high school (now Richfield High School) opened its doors for classes in 1959 and has since been serving as both primary and secondary education for locals and residents across several neighbouring jurisdictions including Garland, Mesquite, Plano, Irving Hills, North Richland Hills, Hickory Hill/Tomball Valley Millsview Park and Grapevine Ranch.
