Robstown is a small town in Montgomery County, Texas, United States. The population was 4,612 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town of Robstown was founded in 1876 by two men, John and David Robson, who platted the town on land that they donated to the county. The first school in Robstown opened in 1878. The post office was established in 1880 and remained open until it closed in 1935. The local Telephone Company designed and built the first telephone exchange building in Montgomery County. In 1907, the company merged with Western Electric to become AT&T Corporation. In 1929, AT&T moved its corporate headquarters from San Francisco to Dallas and named Robstown its new corporate headquarters for that city's expanding telecommunications industry. In 1951, when Interstate 35 (I-35) was completed across Montgomery County from downtown Dallas to concurrent I-635/I-40 east of Scottsboro (now Tyler), some residents of Robstown decided that they would like to move closer to their jobs at I-635/I-40 rather than continue living near Downtown Dallas which had been their mainstay since before they were born or raised there. They formed the "Robstown Improvement Association" (ROIA) and began lobbying county leaders for an ordinance allowing them to create a separate municipality within Montgomery County called "Robstown". On December 15, 1951, after months of discussion and hearings attended by representatives from all over Austin Ward #2 including many people from across rural Montclair Township as well as downtownDallas - ROIA had its state law passed by a vote of 7 – 1 with one abstention! Thereafter - citizens of Robstown voted themselves a municipal charter on May 5th 1953! This legislation created what is now known as "Robstown City Hall" - directly below I-635/I-40 across from Scottsboro Airport which remains today one of Austin's most vibrant areas full of both retail shopping as well as restaurants and services geared towards airport visitors! The airport has also become home away from home for many years now for several major events such as World Expo's including those held every 3 years hereabouts!

Robstown is a small town in McLennan County, Texas, United States. The population was 3,751 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area. The Robstown post office opened on December 6, 1881. In 1928, the name of the town was changed from Richland to Robstown due to the presence of a Robert H. Robison business in that community. The first store in Robstown was built by J.H. Roberts and Bros., which operated from 1881-1885 and again from 1895-1928. A grocery store also opened in 1888 by Wm Copley and Brothers Ltd.. At one time there were six restaurants in Robstown: two run by brothers John and Harry Vickers (1890-1920), four by Gertrude Atherton (1900-1920), three by Stanton Wigglesworth (1921-1927), and one each by Willard Gibbs (1928-1929) and Everett Crouse (1960s). In 1927, an oil well was drilled nearby and production began electric power generation for local businesses through local companies such as Texaco and GulfTex Electric Supply Co., giving impetus to economic development within the community; however talk about reopening the post office stalled until a new owner could be found for it in 1971 when then mayor Don Armstrong offered to donate land bordering Robstown proper for its restoration if enough people donated money too In 1984 a campaign called "Championing Community Values" promoted tourism around town with events like country fairs/fairs/. There have been several large renovations since then including replacing most of the infrastructure including Kwik Trip restrooms with gender inclusive ones; adding more than 20 new businesses over time; renovation of all but two historic homes which are now used as apartments or houses of worship; arts & culture center complete with performancestage/theater; addition of public works department which included streetlights, paving etc.; annexation into Plano city limits - making it one municipality larger than justRobstown
