Robinson, Texas is a city located in the U.S. state of Texas. It was founded in 1879 by J.D. Robinson, who named it for himself and his brother John D. Robinson (1830-1910). The city became an important center for cotton farming and ranching during the 1800s and early 1900s, and its population increased rapidly after World War II when new subdivisions were developed in the surrounding rural areas. In recent years, Robinson has become a bedroom community for the Dallas–Fort Worth area, with its high-density housing developments providing ample space for residents to commute to jobs in nearby Dallas or Fort Worth.

Robinson, Texas is a city in and the county seat of Cameron County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,526 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The area that now includes Robinson was settled by Scots-Irish immigrants in the 1820s. The first post office in what is now Robinson was established on December 12, 1826, as "Fayetteville". The name change came about because John Fayette had been killed in a duel with Sam Houston near this location on November 3rd 1826. In 1860, when Texas became a state, Robinson was part of what was called Baylor County. In 1871 it became part of Cameron County and remained so until 1959 when it reverted to its own independent government under the name of Robinson. In 1960 it merged with nearby Denton to form the current city of Denton.

In 1907, Mrs. Lula Purdy founded a school which became Robinson Junior High School; it remained open until 1971 when it merged with Arlington Heights High School to form Arlington Heights/Robinson HS). In 1964, local entrepreneur Teddie Smith opened Robertson's BBQ restaurant in town which has been serving food since then. The event that started the current economy of Robinson was an auction held by former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee in 2007 at Robertsons BBQ which raised over $10,000 for charity.

Robinson, Texas is a small town located in Hudspeth County, Texas. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. Robinson was founded in 1881 by Elisha Robinson and his family. It became a city in 1907 and then a town in 1923. The current mayor of Robinson is Donny Johnston. The area that now comprises Robinson was originally part of the Hudspeth County seat of Tomball. In 1881, Elisha Robinson purchased land east of Tomball from the government for $1,000 and began to develop it into a new town named after him, Robinson Township. This community soon boasted an hospital and two schools (one elementary and one high school). By 1907, when Tomball City were incorporated as a city, Robinson had become home to over 10 businesses including groceries store, dry goods store, livery stable/feeder station (later renamed the Tommy Gun Feed & Grain Store), bank (the first in Texas), blacksmith shop (later renamed the First National Bank), auto garage/repair shop (later renamed the Garage-O-Van), post office (opened on November 12th, 1907 by Dr. James Gatzke with 2 mailboxes on Northwest Sixth Street) and several other stores and services. In 1923, due togrowing population pressure within Hudspeth County as well as problems with water suppliesand infrastructure development within my townspeople rallied behind their Mayor Donny Johnston who successfully campaigned for reelection promising better roads,, sewer systems., lighting etc.. With these improvements came its rapid growth which reached its peak during World War II when more than 20 businesses operated out of Robinsons doors supplying munitions manufacturing plants all across America…. However during the postwar years economic stagnation brought about many changes that impacted citizens lives such as increased crime rates , loss of jobs , declining education levels among youth etc….. In recent decades local officials have worked hard to redevelop infrastructure such as expanded sidewalks,, green space,, bike lanes,,,, public transportation options,,,, retail opportunities for residents etc… making Robinsons resurgence possible while also hosting events like arts festivals,, rodeo's,,,, baseball games ect….
